James Bond Channel To Launch In UK

TV Viewers in the UK will no longer have to wait for anniversary marrathons or periodic screenings to see James Bond on TV. Thanks to a new James Bond Chanel called Sky Movies 007, Britain’s most famous secret agent will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for a month.

British television broadcaster BSkyB will be launching a new 24-hour James Bond channel starting October 5th. The channel will broadcast 22 original Bond films over and over again for one month. According to Reuters, the new channel will show 1962’s Dr. No, 2006’s Casino Royale, and everything in between.

The Guardian reports that BSkyB decided to launch the channel to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Bond film, as well as celebrate the latest movie in the series, Sky Fall.

Director of Sky Movies, Ian Lewis, said in a statement:

“We’re delighted that our customers will have the best Bond movie-watching experience ever with Sky Movies – uninterrupted, in HD (high definition), on demand and on the go.”

The news about the James Bond Channel comes shortly after Sky acquired the rights to the franchise from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios.
