Chris Hemsworth Delivers Hilarious Dramatic Reading Of Rihanna’s ‘Work’ [Video]

Chris Hemsworth is putting his impressive acting chops to “work” for a dramatic reading of Rihanna’s latest hit.

During a recent interview on BBC Radio 1 this week, Hemsworth was asked to perform Rihanna’s “Work” in a pretty dramatic fashion, and it’s safe to say Chris certainly didn’t disappoint.

In the hilarious video uploaded to the BBC radio station’s official YouTube page on March 31, Hemsworth can be seen putting a deadly serious spin on Rihanna’s latest single as he theatrically reads out the opening verse of “Work.”

“Work, work, work, work, work, work, He said me haffi,” Hemsworth reads in the hilarious new clip, which clocks in at just over 1-minute long, before Chris continues to put on a straight face as he continues to muddle through Rihanna’s pretty confusing lyrics, including the following.

“Work, work, work, work, work, work/He see me do me/Dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt, dirt/So me put in/Work, work, work, work, work, work/When you gonna/Learn, learn, learn, learn, learn/Meh nuh care if him/Hurt, hurt, hurt, hurt, hurting.”

While Chris impressively managed to stay serious throughout his pretty intense Rihanna lyric read, which was uploaded in black and white for extra dramatic effect, Hemsworth couldn’t hold back his emotions after reading the first verse and even joked with host Nick Grimshaw that he “lost himself in amongst” Rihanna’s song.

“It drummed up a whole lot of feelings and emotions and past experiences,” Hemsworth sarcastically joked on the BBC radio show on March 31, before revealing that “Work” was so inspirational that it actually made him “want to get to work” himself.

“It makes you just want to get to work,” Chris told Grimshaw, joking, “You hear that, kids? Get a job!”

Chris’s dramatic reading of one of Rihanna’s most lyrically confusing songs comes amidst Hemsworth’s recent British promotional tour for his new movie, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, also included him making a pretty surprising admission about identity confusion on The Graham Norton Show.

Speaking out about who he all too often gets mistaken for while appearing on the late night BBC chat show, Hemsworth recalled one of the first times he was mistaken for someone else some years ago, and it turns out Chris’s fans like to keep it in the family

Hemsworth admitted to Norton, and fellow guests Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst and Stephen Mangan, that he regularly goes through cases of mistaken identity with his younger brother, Liam Hemsworth, and even revealed that Liam once pretended to be him while the two were at an event together.

“Now I have a beard it happens more,” Hemsworth said on the chat show of being mistaken for the Hunger Games actor, confessing that his first taste of mistaken identity came when he attended the premiere for Star Trek with Liam back in 2009.

“It was the first big thing I had done and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this is the beginning of my career,'” Chris revealed according to The Evening Standard earlier this week, before revealing that a slew of fans actually began calling Liam “Chris” while the two walked the red carpet together.

“A bunch of people were there and they’re like, ‘Chris, Chris, Chris’, and then ran straight past me to Liam,” Hemsworth said.

Chris Hemsworth then revealed that while he thought Liam would correct the fans who had a mishap with his name, he instead “just winked and started signing autographs” for the confused gaggle of fans. “That was my first little brush with fame,” Chris joked.
