Kylie Jenner’s Glossy New Music Video: Shades Of Taylor Swift, Or The Best April Fool’s Prank Ever?
Kylie Jenner may have just released the most epic April Fool’s dupe of all time.
Jenner, who was rumored to have been contemplating a musical career, has released a video to promote her new line of lip gloss. The video oozes sex appeal and features a Taylor Swift-type “girl squad” as her backup crew.
Kylie found fame through the notorious reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which has been American cult fodder since 2007.
Nylon.com writes,
“Whether you want to admit it or not, Kylie Jenner has given us some of the most watershed moments in pop culture history.”
Bursting all fresh and new onto the scene of video production, Jenner is 18 years old. She is the youngest member of the Kardashian-
Her new video is obviously intended solely to promote her set of lip colors, debuting April 1.
Or is it?
There’s something illegal, underground, and, well, sort of dirty taking place. Jenner pulls up in front of a shady-looking desert hotel. (Note “KNGKYLIE” on Rolls Royce license plate.)
Stacks of cash? Lip gloss dealers? A handgun? A guy getting a swirly in a fishbowl?
What is going on here?
As Entertainment Tonight headlines said, “Kylie Jenner Steals Money and Gets Arrested In Bizarre Video.”
“Kylie is shown strutting outside the motel showing off her plump booty while her lady gang is inside.”
Hollywood Life ran a story about the Swift influence in Kylie’s new video. But primarily, the article just gushes about the lipstick. Oh, and points out that Jenner is wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf on her head.
“We have no doubt these glosses will sell out immediately, especially if her lip kits are any indication of her impending success. Every single time the liquid lipsticks get restocked, they sell out in minutes. Every. single. shade. And we have to admit, the formulas in the lip kits are pretty amazing, so we can’t wait to try the glosses.”
There’s no question that there is a strong Taylor Swift influence in the Jenner History on YouTube.
There’s this lip sync duet.
There’s this “Better Than Revenge Remake,” with Jenner and a girl crew, and this one is reaching back a few years.

Taylor Swift, Better Than Revenge.

And as Bustle.com writes,
“In very Taylor Swift Bad Blood fashion, Jenner is surrounded by a cast of gorgeous women who help her in her, well, violent mission. Turns out, these ladies’ names are the names of the new glosses.”
“Like”
“Literally”
“So Cute”
Jenner dug into some serious talent with her choice of director. Grammy-nominated and MTV Award-winning Colin Tilley has worked with Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and other Illuminati. No Taylor Swift, though.
The way Jenner announced her new video was understated. She just posted the link on Twitter, with the line, “GLOSSES VIDEO OUT NOW.”
This announcement smacks of an April Fool’s prank, but one has to wonder, would she really go that far for a practical joke?
Could she possibly be that cool?
