‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Leaked Negan Audio A Cliffhanger Or Prequel?

The Walking Dead fandom is in complete chaos this week after audio of Negan’s big death scene, where he kills a beloved character, was leaked online, but while many are thinking this is the final scene of the Season 6 finale, it could actually be the opening scene.

An audio file of Negan’s big introduction was leaked online on Wednesday night. The audio clip lasts about 11 minutes, as Walking Dead fans can hear Negan telling Rick that he’s going to kill a member of his group and then expects the rest of the group to work for him, giving them half of everything they have, or will have, in the future.

Many Walking Dead fans are regarding this as the final scene of the Season 6 finale, which has been rumored to end in one epic, devastating cliffhanger. However, the audio may suggest that this is no cliffhanger at all. In fact, that scene could be the very first one that viewers see when the finale begins airing on Sunday night.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, spoilers for the Walking Dead Season 6 finale have revealed that Negan will choose one of Rick’s group to kill, and then the camera angle will shift to the victim’s point of view, not showing that person’s face as Negan brutally beats them to death with his beloved weapon of choice, a baseball bat covered in barbed wire he’s affectionately named Lucille. While it seems that those rumors are true, and that is how the scene from the leaked audio file will go down, it may not be in the order that everyone believes it to be.

The Walking Dead spoilers

At the end of the scene, after the bats stops cracking the victim’s skull and the crying and screaming drowns out, the Walking Dead opening credit music plays, leading some to believe that the scene actually happens right at the beginning of the episode, and that the show then flashes back to earlier in that day so that viewers can see the events that lead to the brutal murder. If this is true, the end of the episode could actually show the scene from a different camera angle, point of view, or simply the identity of the person who has been killed. If that’s the case, there are a few characters who could be in big, big trouble.

Right off the bat, (no pun intended) fans expect Glenn to be the one who is killed by Negan, since that was Glenn’s fate in The Walking Dead comic book series. However, Daryl has also been high rumored to be the person who will die in the Season 6 finale, and since actor Norman Reedus is scheduled to appear on The Talking Dead after the finale, there could be reason to believe he’s the one who will go.

If either Glenn or Daryl dies on The Walking Dead on Sunday, fans will surely be speechless. Even though we all know that it’s a cold new world and that these characters can simply not live forever, it will also be a shock when one of them dies, especially an original character, which are so few.

If The Walking Dead Season 6 does end in a cliffhanger, fans will have over six months until Season 7 debuts to think about who the victim could be and get used to the fact that that person will no longer be on the show. However, if we do see who Negan’s victim is, we’ll have that same 6 months to mourn that character’s death and the huge loss it will be to the show. Either way, get ready for some serious squirming during the finale.
