‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’: Blac Chyna To Redeem Falling Kardashian Popularity?

Keeping Up with the Kardashians is a show that launched the careers of the entire Kardashian family. Now, rumor has it that Blac Chyna, Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend, wants to be on the show. TMZ has reported that Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend may soon appear on the show. Given that she would bring a lot of drama to Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the Kardashian clan would probably say yes, after all, who doesn’t want viewership? It’s been reported that the Kardashians have actually been losing their popularity.

The Daily Mail said that it looks like all the magazines that had the reality stars on the cover actually suffered. According to WWD, Cosmopolitan saw an 18 percent fall in single-copy sales when the Kardashian-Jenner women were on the cover in November.

It must be understood that the celebrities that grace the cover of magazines can have a huge effect on single-copy sales, but there is not a big effect on subscriptions. Cosmopolitan’s single-copy sales were, on average, 531,086 copies. However, it fell to 436,500 when the “First Family” was put on the cover. Kylie Jenner was on the magazine’s February 2015 cover and that hurt circulation too, as the magazine sold only 495,423 copies.

The falling numbers are not limited to just one magazine. When Kylie Jenner graced the cover of GQ in May 2015, the issue sold 10,000 fewer copies. She appeared on the cover of Allure too, and the magazine’s sales dropped by 4,000 than average. However, Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover was the only one that struck a chord with readers. Vanity Fair reported a 264 percent bump in sales after it put Caitlyn on the cover.

Kim Kardashian, perhaps the most famous Kardashian, isn’t doing too well either. Glamour magazine saw a 14.6 percent drop in total sales when it put her on the cover. Are the Kardashians trying to use the Blac Chyna-Rob Kardashian-Kylie Jenner drama to their advantage? But if TMZ is to be believed, Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend’s presence on the show is going to cost the family. She is reportedly asking for $1 million to appear on the show.

It’s not clear if earlier reports about Blac Chyna’s spinoff show with boyfriend Rob Kardashian are still going to stand. People reported that the two lovebirds were shooting for the spinoff because she did not want to film with Rob’s family.

“Rob and Chyna are hoping for a spin-off,” the insider said. “Chyna doesn’t want to film with Rob’s family. They both think a spin-off is the best business decision. They have had meetings and things look promising.”

Last week, Kris Jenner talked to Australian radio that she thought Chyna was a “really nice girl” even though she did not know her “as well as everyone does,” Cosmopolitan reported. Could Kris Jenner’s change of heart be the reason Rob Kardashian’s girlfriend is now appearing on the show? Do you think it’s a result of the decreasing popularity of Keeping Up with the Kardashians? Although Blac Chyna and Kim Kardashians were friends earlier and even appeared on the show (as Kim’s friend) giving Kim stripping lessons, the cracks in the relationship appeared when she started seeing Rob Kardashian. Kylie Jenner, Rob’s half-sister, is seeing Tyga, Blac Chyna’s ex-boyfriend, who even has a son with her.
