Kris Jenner Responsible For Leaking Kim Kardashian Sex Tape For Publicity, Insiders Say

Kris Jenner’s past may be coming back to haunt her. New details about her deliberate plan to leak her daughter Kim Kardashian’s adult film have been revealed. According to Radar Online, author Ian Halperin has shed light on Kardashian-Jenner family’s rise to the top in his new book, Kardashian Dynasty.

In the book, Halperin insists Kris Jenner was involved in the sale of her daughter’s homemade sex film with singer Ray-J. In fact, the leak of the film reportedly came as no surprise for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ matriarch.

It has been reported that an adult film industry insider has come forward with details about Kris Jenner and how she marketed the tape. But, apparently, Kris Jenner wasn’t the only person involved in the leak. Kim reportedly wasn’t as surprised or devastated as she initially seemed. During an interview with Halperin, the insider explained how Kim was told an adult film could be a guaranteed way to catapult her career. She and Kris Jenner reportedly discussed the idea of filming an X-rated movie prior to the leak. According to the insider, the film was given to Vivid Entertainment by a third party, but it has always been unclear who that person was. Now, Halperin alleges that Kris Jenner was that person.

“A mutual friend of Kim and Paris [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go…Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand. It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day.”

The latest report about Kris Jenner follows a string of previous, speculative reports about Kris’ plot for success.

“Kris was totally involved in arranging the sale of Kim’s tape,” a source previously said.

Since Kris Jenner has a history of making public disasters favorable for the well-being of the family’s reality show, many media outlets have speculated that she had the same strategy in mind when she was working to elevate her family’s status. In fact, the adult film fiasco is what led to the family’s big break with reality TV.

In addition to the recent rumors about the infamous film, Kris Jenner has reportedly done other things for the purposes of good press. A previous report was released detailing similar circumstances regarding Kris Jenner’s involvement in the American Crime Story miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson. Kris Jenner reportedly met with the show’s executive producers in hopes of persuading them to withhold certain details about the case to protect her late ex-husband’s legacy. During the trial, Kris Jenner was also accused of trying to testify for publicity purposes. When it comes to Kim’s film, many fans put nothing past Kris Jenner.

With the adult film, Kris Jenner decided to monetize it because there was a strong possibility it would leak anyway, according to the insider who spoke with Halperin. For the purpose of financial gain, Kris Jenner decided to orchestrate the leak through an adult film company so they’d get paid before the tape hit the internet, according to OK! Magazine.

“A third party brought it to Vivid. [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family,” the former friend said. “So why not work for us, and we’ll make sure that it will not only get out, but that it will be distributed the way you want.”

In addition to the leak, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian denied the allegations and even sued the film company over the release of the video and settled for $5 million. But, according to the book, they took legal action to further distance themselves from the leak rumors. Although Kim received $5 million for the film, the exact dollar amount she’s received for the tape over the years is still unknown.

“It is clear that Vivid would not have announced plans to distribute Kim’s tape without a clear indication from the family that they would give the go-ahead once they had come to terms on a price,” the insider said.

It’s definitely safe to say there’s a possibility Kris Jenner did make everything work out so they’d get more buck for their bang. But, at this point, all of the chatter is still considered speculation, because a rep for the Kardashian-Jenner clan has refuted the claim yet again.
