Selena Gomez Gets Banned From Facebook

Selena Gomez has been banned from Facebook.

A girl in New Mexico who shares the same name as the famous pop singer was denied access to her Facebook page for having an “Inauthentic Account.”

Gomez told TMZ that Facebook most likely believes that she is trying to impersonate the famous singer to gather celebrity friends on the social networking set. But the New Mexico girl says that she uses her middle name to avoid confusion and does not have any famous friends on Facebook.

Gomez said:

“I AM NOT AN IMPOSTOR … My name is not hers on my page. In fact, I even put my middle name on my FB to clear up any confusion. I did not have one single famous friend. I did not refer to myself as [the famous Selena], and I did not have any pictures of her on my page!”

This isn’t the first time that a person has been banned from Facebook for “impersonating” a celebrity. Last year, Mark Zuckerberg was kicked off of the social networking site. Facebook typically clears up these matters rather quickly but Gomez hasn’t had any luck restoring her account yet.

While Selena Gomez of New Mexico tries to restore her account Selena Gomez the pop-singer is basking in a little bit of notoriety today. The young star was recently named the second most powerful celebrity on the internet. (First, of course, was her boyfriend Justin Bieber.)
