Ben Affleck Follows Jennifer Garner’s Lead: ‘She’s A Real Talent’

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may have had one of the greatest love affairs in recent memory, but as the former couple moves away from that and accepts that their relationship dynamic has changed, Ben and Jennifer are finding new ways to relate to one another. Putting the happiness of their children first, Affleck reveals that the couple has redefined themselves in relation to how they will co-parent their kids with Garner taking the lead.

While parenting their shared children seems to be the most important aspect of their evolving relationship, Affleck’s adoration for Garner is all too obvious, as he praises his ex-wife. Ben says he wants everyone to know that he feels lucky to have a parenting partner as gifted and devoted as Ms. Garner. Affleck’s words prove that there is little, if any, animosity between himself and Garner.

“I am a giant fan of Jennifer,” says Ben of Garner. “She’s just a fabulous person. She’s just a wonderful person. She’s a great mother. She’s a real talent.”

As is the case with most couples that face a divorce, Affleck and Garner have found that they will always be connected through their children. Their relationship hasn’t ended as much as it has altered to focus more on Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4. Affleck says that although this isn’t what either Garner or himself had planned for their lives, this is the hand they have been dealt and they’re doing their best to put the children first.

It’s a journey, as is all of life, and Affleck says he’s happy to let Jennifer take the reigns. He follows Ms. Garner’s lead and steps up to support her in all matters, where their kids are concerned. Affleck says he has complete faith in Jennifer.

“She’s just so good at doing that and has set such a good example and a lead that I follow,” Ben said. “She’s somebody that I admire and respect and remain excellent friends with.”

Singer-turned-actress Jennifer Lopez talks about her long past love affair with Affleck, which ended in 2004 with Lopez’s cancellation of their planned nuptials. Looking back on her two year romance with Ben 12 years later, the Shades of Blue actress seems to hold onto some regret, as she speaks about what might have been.

“I think different time, different thing. Who knows what could’ve happened? But there was a genuine love there,” Ms. Lopez says.

Jennifer says that, as she and Affleck first began dating, she definitely had that feeling of being swept off her feet, but the voice of reason kept her cautious. She says pragmatism won over, reminding her that the way in which a person presents themselves in the early stages of a romance is often different from the way that person is, once they’re more comfortable and less pretentious.

On top of the normal pressures common with any budding romance, Jennifer explains that sudden media attention really placed an inordinate amount of stress upon their relationship. Lopez says she had been dating Affleck at a time when tabloid news was really gaining steam, placing Ben and herself at the center of a media circus.

“We didn’t try to have a public relationship. We just happened to be together at the birth of the tabloids, and it was like ‘Oh my God.’ It was just a lot of pressure,” says Ms. Lopez.

Jennifer Lopez is currently involved in a relationship with dancer Casper Smart.
