Leah Messer Under Fire For Neglect Following The ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 7 Premiere
Leah Messer is constantly under fire for her parenting choices. Last night, she returned to the small screen along with her Teen Mom 2 co-stars. Fans have been harping on decisions Messer has made for her children for quite some time, and recent events have made it worse. Last October, Corey Simms won full custody of the twins, but the arrangement has since been reverted back to equally shared custody with Messer. Because Teen Mom 2 tapes several months in advance, the footage seen during the premiere was several months old.
The season premiere of Teen Mom 2 made Leah Messer look pretty bad. While it is unclear if it was edited and played to make it appear that way or it was just what it appeared to be, the moments in the car with her girls on the way to school were heartbreaking. According to Us Weekly, Leah Messer denied her twin girls breakfast before leaving the house for school. Their kindergarten class is 45 minutes away from where Messer lives, and they begin just after 7:00 a.m. The girls were shown complaining to Messer about not trusting her and not getting breakfast before school. While it was insisted that the twins could eat at school, that was not what they wanted.
Seeing that footage was enough to set fans off across social media. Several are condemning Leah Messer for being an irresponsible parent. It was also said that Corey Simms and his wife, Miranda, feed the girls before school. There was some debate about what Messer does for the girls for lunch. Some of the comments the twins made to their mom were disturbing, especially when Aleeah whined she didn’t trust her mother. During the after show special, Messer explained she had just gotten home from rehab. While it was no excuse, it did explain the lack of routine established. Teen Mom 2 always seems to film Messer at the most inopportune times.
There is still some debate about whether Leah Messer has a pill addiction. It was denied over and over again last season, but there were several instances that would make others think twice about there not being an issue. According to Radar Online, Leah Messer was a sticking point for Corey Simms. He believes that her drug problem was ignored by production. Because of his assumptions regarding Messer, both Simms and his wife will appear less during Season 7. Getting Messer help should have been a priority for all. While she seems to be doing better this year, there were several signs in the season premiere that alluded to the fact she may still have a problem. Simms was not trying to get back at Messer, he was simply trying to do what was right for her and his children.
Things are going to be rough for Leah Messer this season. She is already being called a neglectful mother and other, more terrible names. Unfortunately, Messer brought this on herself because she chose not to prepare ahead of time, and her twins told her how they felt. Getting up at 5:00 a.m. is a bit much for kindergarten, but it is what they have to do. Messer agreed to enroll them in school by their father’s house, despite the extensive travel it was going be for her. Teen Mom 2 just began airing, and there is likely way more to come this season that will expose what happened between Messer and Simms with the custody battle. Leah Messer has been criticized since joining the show, but this time things seem to be more vicious and personal after her twins spoke out against her.
