Joe Giudice Admits To Breaking Down Before Prison: Does He Feel He Failed His Kids?

Joe Giudice has known for over a year that he would have to turn himself in tomorrow and serve over three years behind bars. Back in the fall of 2014, the couple were both found guilty and sentenced to time behind bars. Teresa Giudice has just finished serving her time behind bars and was released right before Christmas. Teresa showed her emotional journey as she went to prison. She even wrote a book about it. But for Joe, things are different. He may not like people knowing his feelings, especially when it comes to him going to prison. He has done a few interviews to downplay him going to prison, but now he admits that he did have a meltdown over leaving his daughters behind.

According to a new People report, Joe Giudice is now revealing that he did break down prior to him going away. He has been spending time with his children, saying his emotional goodbyes to his daughters. Some of his kids don’t understand why he is going away, but they know that he won’t be coming home anytime soon.

“My kids are very smart, and they know what the deal is,” Giudice tells People in an exclusive interview, adding, “The younger ones don’t understand why you have to go, what you did — I don’t think either one of them know exactly why you are going in, but you we just told them that we did some things wrong and we gotta go in.”

Of course, Joe Giudice has four children; Gia, 15, Gabriella, 12, Milania, 10, and Audriana, 6. One can imagine that Gia understands what is going on, but Gabriella, Milania and Audriana may not understand everything that is happening, as fraud can be a bit complex for a child.

“I had a little meltdown the other night with my daughter Gabriella talking to her,” Giudice says, adding, “but we will be all right we will get through it.”

Joe was sentenced to 41 months behind bars, and Teresa was sentenced to 13 months. She ended up serving less than that, and it is possible that he could also serve less than 41 months. But when he is released, Joe could face deportation. This is something that the judge will decide once he is released. No one really knows what the judge could be looking at when determining whether to keep him or deport him.

At present time, Joe will serve his time at the Federal Correction Institute, Fort Dix, in New Jersey. That means he will be close to home, so his daughters can visit him. Apollo Nida is currently serving 8 years here for a similar charge. But he doesn’t see it as a big deal.

“It’s not a big deal,” Giudice previously told People, adding, “They tell me that the low security and the camp there are almost the same so it’s no big deal.”

“It’s a military camp is what it is,” Joe Giudice says of the facility, adding, “It’s not a high security, and anybody that’s in there is basically people that have already served a lot of time basically working their years to get out. So once you are there if you screw up there, then you go back to high security.”

Giudice will turn himself in tomorrow and possibly during the night to avoid the paparazzi. One can imagine that Teresa and her children will come visit him on the weekends. This could be featured on The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
