‘Supergirl’ Meets ‘The Flash’ In First Teaser From The Epic DC Comics Crossover Event

Two superheroes are better than one in CBS‘s recently released teaser for the highly anticipated crossover between The Flash and Supergirl, fans can finally get a glimpse at what they will look like. Together. On one screen.

However, the teaser doesn’t contain any spoilers. In fact, it’s only mere 10 seconds long. Despite the short length, it does tease at the union between CBS’s greatest superhero, played by Melissa Benoist, and The CW’s rocket, played by Grant Gustin, as they show off their superpowers.

According to Deadline, along with the teaser CBS also gave a short synopsis of the upcoming episode. “Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan (Italia Ricci), aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire (Brit Morgan) in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home.”

The teaser was the second time fans got to see images from the epic episode. Variety notes that last week, CBS unveiled a poster for the upcoming meeting. Instead of the Man of Steel racing The Flash as seen in the classic comic issue of Superman, fans got to see Kara (Supergirl) and Flash (Barry) facing off to see who is faster.

Meanwhile, the executive producer for both The Flash and Supergirl, Greg Berlanti, explained why Barry was the best character to make the crossover from The CW to CBS.

“We needed to create a way to do it… We had to introduce Superman since you’ve heard about him and you’ve heard about Supergirl, but in worlds of ‘Arrow’ and ‘Flash,’ they didn’t exist in that world. We introduced the multiverse in ‘The Flash’ this year and that was always our way in.”

TV Line also has some photos taken from the upcoming episode titled, World’s Finest. The pictures show Barry and Kara out of costume, as well as in their superhero disguises, taking on various foes.

In other superhero news by Design & Trend, the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice prompted The Flash cast members to be asked who they think would win in the epic showdown between Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck).

“Batman is great, but Superman is going to kick his a**,” The Flash star Gustin stated in a video released by The CW.

Of course, that answer should not come as a surprise to anyone given the fact that Gusten has been a longtime fan of the Man of Steel.

“I wasn’t really into comic books,” he admitted. “I didn’t really even know where to find them as a kid. But I was obsessed with Superman.”

Gusten also sports a tattoo on his left arm that says, “Superman… I love him.” The tattoo holds special meaning because it was written in his mother’s handwriting.

Joining Gustin, Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin), Carlos Valdes (Cisco), and Jesse L. Martin (Joe) are also all pulling for Superman.

“Batman has all these gadgets, but I feel like there’s always the possibility that these can fail him, so I’m gonna go with Superman,” Panabaker stated in the video.

Martin also chimed in saying, “Superman has superpowers. Batman has whole lot of toys, just saying.”

Valdes also admitted why he chose Superman. “He’s the sexier [one].”

Although most of the cast believed Superman would win, there were two that choose Batman. “Batman, for sure,” Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally) said, adding, “He doesn’t have superpowers. Everything he does to save Gotham city is by his own intellect. Batman all the way. Sorry, Superman. You look great in tights but no.”

With Dawn of Justice right around the corner that argument will soon be over, in the meantime make sure to catch the epic crossover event between The Flash and Supergirl on March 28 on CBS.
