‘The Division’ Update Set For Release This Week On PC, Xbox One & PS4

The first The Division update is arriving anytime this week. According to Game Rant, the update will be available on all platforms this week.

Ubisoft made the announcement regarding the very first update for The Division via the game’s official website. Not many details have been revealed yet about the upcoming game update, but the post shared last week read the following.

“The game may have just released but we already have a new update for you to dive into! This will be in your hands next week and fear not, more information about it will be revealed very soon so keep your eyes peeled.”

The Division” is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out one of the recent Twitter posts from the game’s official account.

The Division was initially released on March 8 and developed by Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Annecy, and Red Storm Entertainment. In this open-world role-playing and first person shooter game, gamers play as an “elite sleeper agent,” the last line of defense equipped with “customizable skills, weapons, gear and advanced technology.”

In addition to this, Ubisoft, through its official community news site State of the Game, is also expected to share weekly news updates for players to keep them up to date with the newest information, content, and changes about the game, an approach similar to Bungie’s Destiny.

In other The Division news updates, as reported by PC Gamer, its game director Ryan Barnard left the massive MMORPG last month to join IO Interactive, the game developer responsible for Hitman, an episodic action and adventure stealth video game.

“Ryan’s contributions to game design over the years show he’s the ideal person to spearhead the coming efforts,” the publisher of IO, Square Enix, said. “We are very happy to add his talent to the pool of great people working at IO.”

According to PC Gamer, Barnard takes the gameplay director role for IO Interactive, supervising three core teams namely the “gameplay,” “online,” and “world.”

Meanwhile, here’s The Division video featuring a “Ubisoft Easter Egg.”

Anther The Division news update shared that free DLCs for the game are coming in April and May. According to The Bit Bag, the free DLC content for April will be called Incursions, described by Ubisoft as a “new challenging end-game activity developed specifically for squad play.” The free DLC update for May is called Conflict, which will bring in new Dark Zone features as well as more incursions in Columbus Circle in Manhattan.

As for the paid ones, three DLCs are arriving in the game’s first year of availability, with the first downloadable content set for release in June. According to Gotta Be Mobile, the paid DLCs are Underground, Survival, and The Last Stand.

Underground is like a subway system, taking players to various mazes of tunnels and spaces located underneath the New York City to hunt down “groups of dangerous enemies.” Speculations are rife that a possible major task in this DLC is to save the major utilities of the city, which are based underground.

Survival, the second game expansion, “will task players of the game with gathering supplies while trying not to be killed by waves of enemies,” Gotta Be Mobile reported. The Last Stand DLC, is expected to be the third and last major expansion during the game’s first year.

These paid The Division DLCs will be available automatically, once they are released, for those who own the game’s Season Pass which is worth $39.99. The Season Pass also gives players access to gear sets and other items for the characters. Meanwhile, the standalone price for each DLC is yet to be revealed.
