Maryum Ali Talks About Experience On ’60 Days In’: Would She Do It Again?

If you are not watching 60 DaysIn on A&E, then you are missing out on an amazing new show. One person on this show is Maryum Ali, who is the daughter of famous boxer Muhammad Ali. Access Hollywood got the chance to talk to Maryum Ali and find out if she would ever do the show again and what she thought about the experience. On this show, Ali spent 60 days behind bars pretending to be a prisoner, even though she didn’t do anything wrong. They are in this jail to expose corruption and reveal what is really going on in this Indiana jail.

Maryum Ali explains that her first night there she did have a tear, but nobody in there knew it. Of course, things were hard on Maryum being locked away for the first time. Maryum reveals that her dad has nine children and she is the oldest one. She actually works as a social worker and works on gang prevention and with children in South L.A.

Maryum shared that the show actually called her about being on 60 DaysIn. They had heard about Maryum Ali’s work and wanted her to join because of this reason, but of course the fact that her dad is Muhammad Ali had to help. She couldn’t reveal to her family that she was going on the show and Maryum was only allowed to tell one person.

Now when it comes to doing the show again, Maryum Ali said that she is glad that she did it the first time, but she wouldn’t do it again. She was booked on fake charges of domestic battery and also intimidation with a knife on her boyfriend. Maryum liked the charges that they gave her though. Maryum tried to go beyond the storyline in her head and said that the boyfriend cheated on her all the time and then threatened her life. Ali said that she snapped when it happened before she ended up in jail.

Maryum Ali did use a different name in prison, but she wanted to be herself as much as possible to make it easier. She did share on spoiler and said that the inmates had to agree to be on the show as well thinking it was about people who were in jail for the first time. Maryum thinks some people might have wondered about her, but they never figured it out. Ali also wouldn’t share at all if she felt threatened physically at any time.

Booking was one of the hardest parts for Maryum Ali. She shared that they gave her a mat that smelled like urine and she just didn’t know what to expect. This show has only aired two episodes so far, but fans can’t wait to see how Maryum Ali does in jail.

New and Tribune shared that on last night’s episode, there were punches thrown in the jail. Luckily, these were not thrown at Maryum Ali. A man named DiAndre got punched in the head for being nice to one of the people in the program, even though he doesn’t know what is going on. There was also another big fight over someone not giving another guy his hash browns that he had promised to him. Hopefully, Maryum Ali can stay out of these big fights on 60 DaysIn.
