Emma Watson Embarrasses Herself For ‘He For She’ Feminism Campaign

Emma Watson is willing to do anything for the “He For She” campaign, including totally embarrassing herself in public. To make her He For She campaign go viral, she sought the help of Lin Manuel Miranda, the maker of the sold-out Broadway show, Hamilton.

But the reason why the video of Emma Watson and Lin Manuel Miranda went viral wasn’t because the popularity of the musical.

“The U.N. women’s goodwill ambassador and actress spoke to the Hamilton creator and star in an hour-long interview about gender equality in partnership with the U.N. Women He For She campaign,” reports Daily Life. “But it wasn’t until the end of the interview that Miranda posed a musical challenge to the Harry Potter series star.”

The musical challenge was dropping a beat for him to freestyle about feminism and He For She. It took a lot of mental bracing for Emma Watson to get on board, but when she did, it was only a matter of time that the video was watched by everyone.

Despite the fact that Emma turned bright red in the video, the color of a “tomato” to use her own words, it looked like she succeeded in again capturing the world’s attention in her promotion of feminism.

With this shared experience, the actress and Broadway heavyweight became best friends in no time.

The 25-year-old actress is taking her feminism very seriously. Almost all her posts on Twitter are related to either being a woman or directly endorsing the He For She UN campaign.

In a recent interview with Esquire, Emma Watson expressed very clearly how she deals with those who criticize her perspective on feminism and advocating for women’s rights.

“We are not supposed to talk about money, because people will think you’re ‘difficult’ or a ‘diva,'” she said. “But there’s a willingness now to be like, ‘Fine. Call me a ‘diva,’ call me a ‘feminazi,’ call me ‘difficult,’ call me a ‘First World feminist,’ call me whatever you want, it’s not going to stop me from trying to do the right thing and make sure that the right thing happens.”

Sounds like it will take a lot to make Emma give up on her feminism streak.

She is taking He For She so seriously that she has decided to take the year off to invest in herself, her beliefs and how to move forward.

I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really,” she said to Paper. “My own personal development is one… My own personal task is to read a book a week, and also to read a book a month as part of my book club.”

This is also a great way for her to throw light on to her new book club, which of course, features books on the theme of feminism.

Others have also been praising the way that the young actress has navigated her career and philanthropy so far.

“That’s what is so great what Emma Watson is doing,” Amy Adams said according to People. “She’s not talking about actresses; she’s talking about women all over the world.”

But when the UN ambassador isn’t busy being political, she is also falling in love. Her relationship with William “Mack” Knight, “a Princeton and Columbia Business School grad who works in tech” just came to light, showing that she doesn’t forget about living it up.

In fact, according to Teen Vogue, they went to see Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton together. Maybe it was her new boyfriend that gave her the idea to embarrass herself for He For She.
