Jodie Sweetin To Star In ‘Hollywood Darlings’ Reality Show With Fellow ‘90s Stars Christine Lakin And Beverley Mitchell

Jodie Sweetin’s career is on fire. On the heels of her Fuller House debut and Dancing With the Stars announcement, the former child star is set to star in yet another TV show, this time a reality series. According to TV Line, Sweetin will team up with real life friends and fellow ’90s stars Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) and Christine Lakin (Step By Step) for the new show. Jodie and her famous childhood friends will star in an eight-episode unscripted doc-comedy series for the Pop network.

Jodie Sweetin posted a picture to Instagram and wrote that she was happy that she could finally share the news about her new TV series with her fans.

Sweetin, Mitchell, and Lakin’s new show is titled Hollywood Darlings. The show will follow the actresses who are now “moms, wives and businesswomen.” In addition to the ’90s trio, other celebrity pals will make appearances throughout the show’s eight episodes. The series is slated to premiere in 2017.

In a statement about the new show, Pop senior VP Paul Adler said Hollywood Darlings will be a dream come true for fans of ’90s television—and for these three lifelong friends who grew up together in the spotlight.

“Anyone who was a TV fan in the ’90s grew up with Jodie, Christine and Beverley–aspiring to be their best friends, wanting to dress like them and using their popular catchphrases. Hollywood Darlings provides an amazing opportunity for viewers to reignite their fandom for this now grown-up trio whose lives are as entertaining as they are relatable.”

Jodie Sweetin spent many years away from the spotlight and only recently returned with several big back-to-back gigs. In addition to Full House, which was promptly renewed by Netflix for a second season just a day after the first season premiered, Jodie will fulfill a lifelong dream as a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars.

In addition to Jodie Sweetin’s revived TV career, the actress is a mom of two, an author, and a jewelry designer. Jodie also travels the country as a guest speaker at colleges to talk about her very public struggle with crystal meth addiction, an addiction she beat five years ago. Jodie recently told People that she also talks about growing up in the entertainment world.

“I speak about my experience growing up in the entertainment business, what my life was like after, some of the struggles and things I went through and where my life is today. It’s a story with a message of second chances and turning things around and being able to overcome some adversity.”

Sweetin’s pals Christine Lakin and Beverley Mitchell have plenty of updates for fans, too. Lakin just welcomed her first child, a daughter named Georgia James, a few days ago, while Mitchell gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, last spring, and reunited with her 7th Heaven co-stars around the same time. With any luck, fans will see a lot of familiar faces on Hollywood Darlings.

Jodie Sweetin is not the only Fuller House star doing double TV duty. While Sweetin will juggle her Netflix sitcom with Dancing With the Stars and now Hollywood Darlings, her TV sister, Candace Cameron Bure also balances motherhood with her Fuller House schedule and a part time role on the ABC daytime chat fest The View. And Sweetin and Bure’s TV uncle, John Stamos, is working on Fuller House while headlining his hit Fox comedy series Grandfathered.
