Marisa Zanuck Of ‘RHOBH’ Files For Divorce After Saying Husband Dean Wasn’t Her Type

Marisa Zanuck is the latest Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum headed for divorce court. Marisa, who’s the wife of movie producer Dean Zanuck, filed court documents in Los Angeles after 13 years of marriage, according to TMZ. As part of her divorce filing, Marisa Zanuck is seeking joint legal and physical custody of her two children with Dean. Marisa and Dean Zanuck are parents to a son, Jack, 13, and a daughter, Darryl, 11.

Longtime fans of RHOBH may remember Marisa Zanuck’s brief tenure as a “friend” of the Housewives during the third season of the long-running Bravo hit. During one famous scene, Marisa famously joked that her husband wasn’t her type, a comment that shocked some of the other RHOBH cast members, most notably Glanville. Marisa later took to her Bravo blog to explain her comment about her husband and to admit that it was disrespectful.

“When I said that Dean wasn’t my type [Brandi] felt it was an insult to my husband. Brandi is right, it was disrespectful. Sometimes my mouth speaks before my brain thinks but that’s me. Dean actually finds this to be an endearing, amusing and bemusing quality of mine. But you would have to know us to know this.”

Marisa Zanuck later found herself having to defend her relationship with her husband, especially after her fellow RHOBH stars commented that it seemed like Dean was more in love with Marisa than she was with him. In a separate blog post, Marisa revealed that she and Dean loved each other the same and that she felt very lucky to be with him. But she also hinted that her marriage to Dean Zanuck wasn’t easy.

“Deanie and I are blessed to have each other. I love him very much. But it doesn’t matter if you live in Beverly Hills and are married to a film producer or if you live in Pennsylvania and are married to a coal miner, all marriages take work and it isn’t always a bed of roses.”

The couple weathered some difficult storms during Marisa’s RHOBH run, including the death of Dean’s father, legendary film producer Richard Zanuck.

According to Us Weekly, Marisa Zanuck appeared on the Bravo reality show because she was friends with Kyle Richards after working with Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky, in the real estate business. But while Marisa was closest to Kyle, she reminded viewers more of Kyle’s nemesis, Brandi Glanville. Marisa had a habit of saying what was on her mind without thinking about it first, and the filter-free mom of two revealed on her final Bravo blog that despite their disagreements, she felt strangely connected with Glanville. Marisa also noted that RHOBH stars have to have a thick skin.

“I really connect with Brandi because she says exactly what is on her mind. I do the same thing, and as you know, our unfiltered opinions have gotten us in to trouble…If 10,000 people are telling you that you are being a b***h, they can’t all be wrong.”

In addition to her career as a luxury real estate agent and her RHOBH resume, Marisa Zanuck has appeared on the real estate-themed reality show Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles.

Marisa Zanuck’s high-dollar divorce is the latest in a series of marital splits for RHOBH stars. Former RHOBH stars Camille Grammer and Adrienne Maloof have both divorced their husbands since the show’s 2010 debut, and current cast member Yolanda Foster is in the middle of a divorce from her husband David Foster.
