Nicki Minaj And Meek Mill ‘Very Serious’ About Marriage, Starting A Family Despite Split Rumors

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill may have ignited split rumors last month following the news of the Philly rapper’s house arrest sentencing, but it appears that Nicki and Meek are still planning for the future, while sources close to the couple admit that the duo are in it “for the long haul.”

Earlier this week, rumors of an impending split between Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill surfaced after alleged sources close to the duo revealed to TMZ that the “All Eyes On You” couple took a brief hiatus following the start of Meek Mill’s house arrest sentencing earlier this month.

Nicki and Meek’s sources explained to the site that the couple allegedly took “a 3 week hiatus” before reuniting earlier this week after Minaj made an appearance on Meek Mill’s Snapchat. The source further admits that both Nicki and Meek have agreed to work on their “communication skills” in an attempt to avoid any further “unnecessary fighting,” noting that the house arrest situation has put “a huge strain” on the duo’s relationship.

Last month, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to personally dispel the breakup claims between herself and Meek Mill by asking fans, “S/o to these fake stories ~ who’s ready for the show tomorrow?”

More recently, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram earlier this week to throw shade at the breakup rumors by showing off the giant diamond ring that Meek Mill gifted to her for her birthday last year with a new cleavage-baring photo.

Now, it appears that sources close to Nicki Minaj and Meek are further speaking out against claims of an impending split for the duo, telling Urban Islandz that both Nicki and Meek are “very serious” about their future together.

“They are both very serious about getting married and starting a family,” the source explains of Nicki and Meek. “They are in it for the long haul and are not just a regular boyfriend and girlfriend, don’t be surprised if a wedding happens this year.”

While Nicki Minaj previously dispelled reports suggesting that she and Meek Mill are ready to walk down the aisle in the near future, the “Feeling Myself” rapper fueled marriage claims in December after she took to Twitter to ask fans to weigh-in with their thoughts on a wedding venue.

“RT for beach wedding. Fave for church wedding,” Minaj asked fans just before the New Year, instantly fueling speculation that she and Meek Mill were in the process of planning for a wedding.

Despite the marriage speculation, Nicki Minaj previously revealed to Billboard that Meek Mill wants to give her “three rings” prior to getting married.

“Meek gave me that,” Minaj explained of the diamond ring that Meek Mill gave her for her birthday. “He and I are not engaged. But he said he would like to give me three rings before we get married. I don’t know what’s going to happen with he and I, I just know right now we are really, really enjoying each other’s company.”

Currently, Meek Mill is continuing to serve his 90-day house arrest sentencing stemming from his probation violation earlier this year. Meek’s lawyer recently filed an appeal to the court in an effort to amend Meek’s current sentencing agreement in the hopes of allowing the “R.I.C.O.” rapper to work on new music while serving out the remainder of his sentencing.
