‘I Am Cait’ Star Candis Cayne Endorses Hillary Clinton For President

I Am Cait star Candis Cayne has publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton for president. According to People Magazine, the transgender actress believes Clinton is doing “amazing work” and would love to see her get the Democratic nomination. Candis Cayne has recently spoken out about her choice and why she feels Clinton would be the best president out of all of the candidates.

“I’ve been a fan of Hillary’s for a long time. I think she’s doing amazing work. [If she’s elected], she’s going to push for rights for trans people [and] that’s a really big thing,” Cayne said. “The way society is feeling right now, it could be very dangerous for a lot of my trans brothers and sisters. That only gets exasperated and becomes a higher issue if somebody who is leading our country doesn’t respect who we are.”

Candis Cayne made this announcement before the latest episode of I Am Cait in which Candis and the other ladies get into a heated discussion about politics with Caitlyn Jenner, who is a proud republican despite being part of the LGBTQ community. Jenner has been a republican for many years and can be seen defending her stance on politics in front of her new friends — including Cayne, who isn’t afraid to voice her opinion, either.

“We have Caitlyn who is conservative. We have me and a bunch of the other girls who are very liberal, and it starts off with a big fight, but I feel like we have to learn how to talk and communicate with each other or nothing will ever get done. We really need to work together and I get into it with Cait – some of the other girls do too – and we just start to talk. We start with fireworks and then it turns into an actual conversation about what each other believes and how we can make a difference in this world,” explains Cayne.

Candis Cayne and Caitlyn Jenner do not see eye to eye when it comes to politics, but it’s important that the two are open when it comes to having discussions about important topics that matter deeply to both of them. Over the years, Jenner has been very vocal about her political views. According to the New York Post, Jenner is a Ted Cruz fan.

“I like Ted Cruz. The Democrats are better when it comes to these types of social issues. I understand that. So why support Republicans? Number 1, if we don’t have a country, we don’t have trans issues. We need jobs. We need a vibrant economy,” she said, defending her choice.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, I Am Cait is in its second season on E!, but the ratings haven’t been that hot. In fact, the season premiere was an all-time low for the show, which was super popular when it first aired. It does seem as though people have lost interest in Caitlyn Jenner’s story at this point.

“Only 750,000 people tuned in for Sunday evening’s episode, which is a drastic drop compared to the 2.7 million viewers that had tuned in for Season 1’s debut last year. Even then, Caitlyn Jenner’s show experienced a dip in ratings from week to week but still managed to scoop herself another run, with producers hoping that a new storyline could sustain people’s interest.”

Candis Cayne and Caitlyn Jenner may never agree on politics, but it appears their strong friendship will prevail.
