Duggar Family Beefing Up Publicity Ahead of ‘Jill And Jessa: Counting On’ Premiere

The Duggar family has endured quite the year. From their show being canceled due to their eldest son’s indiscretions to having more grandchildren welcomed into the world, there have been a lot of defining moments for them in 2015. TLC decided to drop the Duggar family from the network, officially canceling 19 Kids and Counting last summer. Since then, there have been outraged fans emailing and calling the network asking for the family to be placed back on television. Out of that, Jill and Jessa: Counting On was born.

Because they have been pretty quiet over the last year, the Duggar family’s beefed-up presence on social media and public appearances has been shocking. They have been doing a lot more of what they used to do, especially since they have a new show dropping in less than a week. According to People, the Duggar family will all be appearing on Jill and Jessa: Counting On with a few exceptions. Josh Duggar was recently released from rehab, and his part on the show is up in the air. There are reports saying that filming has finished and he was not included, while others that are saying he could be filming now that he is home. The Duggar family has been careful about what they say regarding their son and brother, especially in recent weeks.

In less than a week, the Duggar family will be back on television. Jill and Jessa: Counting On premiered back in December for a three-part special, but since it was a huge hit, the TLC network decided to give the Duggar family another shot at a reality show. Many fans have been interested in the girls’ lives more specifically, which is why the title is focused on them. Of course, the Duggar family members will all appear on the show in some capacity. The trailer has been released, which has also sparked rumors of courtships and more babies on the way. Despite the shame the family faced last year, things seem to be looking up.

Jim Bob leads the Duggar family at all times, especially in the area of public relations. As the offers come in for appearances and press, he will look them over and decide which way to go with the proposals. When the Josh Duggar scandal broke, the Duggar family stepped way back and avoided anything that would put them in a situation to address the scandals their brother and son unleashed. According to Zap2it, the Duggar family forgives Josh, but doesn’t trust him. The trust is going to have to be rebuilt, and that will take time. While this past year has been hard for the Duggar family, it has helped them be more profitable long-term.

The next several weeks are going to be crucial for the Duggar family. Jill and Jessa: Counting On will begin airing on March 15, which is just under a week away. Since the leaks about filming were made several weeks ago, the Duggar family has been working on their public relations status. From several blog posts to photos being shared almost daily, a lot of attention has been drawn to the family. The Duggars have a huge following, and the TLC network knows that. Marketing them as a wholesome family again is going to be tough, especially after Josh Duggar’s choices. The next few days will likely be filled with posts and publicity grabbers from the family. This morning there was a statement issued from them about Josh’s release from rehab, which has also brought the family a lot of attention. While things won’t be the same as they were prior to 2015, the Duggar family is moving on with their lives and bringing fans a new look with Jill and Jessa: Counting On.
