WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins’ Return Date Now Appears To Be Known

Believe it or not, WWE is already talking about SummerSlam, even though everyone is currently preparing for WrestleMania 32, which is right around the corner. For the bigger Pay-Per-Views, WWE always has to be ahead of the game and have working plans in place. That being said, it looks as if they are already banking on having one huge star healed up and back in time for SummerSlam, and he goes by the name of Seth Rollins.

In early November, Rollins was in a match with Kane at a house show in Dublin, Ireland, when the injury happened. While executing a sunset flip powerbomb, he landed wrong and tore the ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus in his knee. Surgery took place a short time later, and he’s been out since.

The original estimate is that he would be out six to nine months.

Well, he’s been rehabbing, and Fansided noticed something interesting that may be playing up to Seth Rollins‘ return from injury. While he’s going to miss WrestleMania 32, it does appear as if WWE believes he’s going to be back by SummerSlam.

As you can see, WWE is already promoting their travel packages for SummerSlam, and there is Seth Rollins in the center for all to see. Now, that is no guarantee, but he has not been used on any promotional materials since his injury.

WWE has always been known to focus promotional work on the superstars they will be basing an event around. In this case, Rollins is in the middle, along with Roman Reigns and, well, John Cena is dead center, as shown on the page on WWE.com.

John Cena is also out due to an injury and having had surgery at the end of January. It was just revealed that he won’t be back in time to wrestle at WrestleMania 32 in early April, but it’s a good bet that he’ll be back by the beginning of the summer.

Sure, it’s still very early, and the promotional material could be just WWE putting some of their biggest names on something they want to sell. Having Rollins on there though is a clear sign that they hope and expect him back by SummerSlam.

Seth Rollins was pretty much on top of WWE at the time of his injury as he was holding the WWE World Heavyweight Title, and even had the United States Title in his possession for a while as well. He was set to face Roman Reigns at Survivor Series, and likely go on to main event WrestleMania 32.

The injury could not have come at a worse time for him or WWE, as the company had been already hit with a huge number of injury losses and still would be. Rollins only added to a list that included Cena, Randy Orton, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Sting, and others.

SummerSlam is still far off, and there most likely are not any concrete solid plans in place for matches or feuds. Plenty of time still remains, and one never knows what injuries could happen or if someone could just fall out of good graces in WWE.

Rumors were going around that Brock Lesnar would face off with Braun Strowman at SummerSlam this year. Well, The Wyatt Family was red hot, but has since fallen out of the spotlight, and it doesn’t appear as if any real big pushes are happening for any of them.

SummerSlam is likely going to be another huge event for WWE, and they’re hoping that all of their injured stars are healed and back by that time. Already, it looks like they are banking on both John Cena and Seth Rollins not only being healthy, but playing big parts at the event in late August.
