Is Christina Aguilera Quitting ‘The Voice,’ Or Is She Planning For A Gwen Stefani Duet?

Christina Aguilera has been targeted with a number of reports regarding her possible feuds with her co-stars on The Voice. While the on-screen bickering between Christina Aguilera and her fellow coaches, including Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Adam Levine, appears to be in good fun, a source recently claimed Christina Aguilera is completely at war with Shelton, and threatening to quit the show.

On March 7, OK! Magazine reported news of Christina Aguilera’s alleged threats, claiming the singer has become fed up with Shelton’s romance with Gwen Stefani. Although Stefani has yet to make her Season 10 debut on The Voice (she’ll be appearing later on in the season as the mentor for Team Shelton), the report claimed Christina Aguilera was over their PDA, and felt the romance was a ploy by Stefani to remain relevant on the NBC series.

When Christina Aguilera left The Voice years ago as she prepared to welcome her second child, the network enlisted Stefani, and in the seasons since, the two women have been alternating seasons as coach. However, after Stefani went public with her romance with Shelton, she was brought back in a mentor role. Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera has been paired with Miley Cyrus, whom she’s reportedly been venting to about her rumored beef with Shelton and Stefani.

Just last week, Radar Online reported news of the tension between Christina Aguilera and Shelton on the set of The Voice, revealing Shelton was doing what he could to push her off the show.

“[Shelton] hates the fact that [Gwen Stefani] is no longer with him this season,” an onset source told Radar Online. “Everyone knows this and he is taking it out on [Christina Aguilera], and they are not getting along at all… It’s his mission to make this as uncomfortable as possible for her so that she will not want to return next season.”

The source even claimed Shelton had threatened to leave The Voice if Stefani didn’t return.

“The execs knew that Blake was bluffing, thankfully,” a source noted at the time. “This is such a huge source of income for Blake and America loves him, so they came up with a plan to bring Gwen back on as a mentor on Blake’s team.”

In response to Shelton’s alleged behavior, Christina Aguilera was said to be channeling her inner diva, which the report noted was not at all out of the ordinary for the singer.

Meanwhile, a third report claimed Christina Aguilera wasn’t feuding with Stefani, but rather hoping to team up with her for a duet about “girl power.”

“[Christina Aguilera] knows that teaming up with someone on The Voice to make a hit song definitely works and she wants to see if lightning strikes again by collaborating with Gwen on a song all about girl power. They are throwing ideas out at each other and would love to start recording something and get something out for this season of the show,” a source told Hollywood Life on March 7.

Christina Aguilera and her co-stars began production on The Voice Season 10 last month, and the show is expected to continue filming for the next few months in Los Angeles. As for the upcoming season 11, no cast announcements have been made, but it is assumed that Stefani will take back the coaching position as she has in years past.
