Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour Day 1: Watch Exciting First Look Pre-Show & See Merch

Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour starts today (March 9). The 64-date trek kicks off in Seattle, Washington, and will see the pop superstar grace arenas across North America including Canada.

If you’re not going to be in Seattle for the first show but have tickets for another stop on the 64-date tour, you can get a taste of what’s to come courtesy of a rehearsal video which the Biebs shared on his social media accounts on Wednesday.

The video is seen in better quality on the Bkstg app.

The fast-edit, 14-minute clip shows Justin and backing dancers rehearsing synchronized moves on a split-level geometric stage inside a massive space. Based on local reports it’s probable these run-throughs were compiled from Team Bieber’s rehearsals at the Matthew Knight arena in Eugene, Oregon last week.

A casually-clad Biebs is seen in the foreground of the stage while his dancers occupy a main stage. The Purpose Tour band are seen standing on a platform one level above the dancers. Three branches from that stage link to the front stage that Justin stands on, which probably forms a diamond shape when seen aerially.

At one point in the video, the heartthrob is seen jumping up from a toaster, which elevates performers onto the air. The footage was filmed by Rory Kramer, who is Bieber’s videographer and photographer.

Naturally, online chatter reveals big excitement and anticipation among Justin Bieber fans for visuals from the tour and a listen to the show set. The Seattle concert will be the first time the Biebs will perform a significant number of songs from his critically acclaimed and wildly successful Purpose album.

The show will no doubt include Bieber’s hits such as “Sorry,” “Love Yourself,” “What Do You Mean,” and “Where Are U Now,” his Grammy winning collaboration with Jack U’s Skrillex and Diplo. Based on previous glimpses of band rehearsals on Instagram, Seattle’s Key Arena audience will also get to hear Purpose gems such as “Been You” and more.

Pre-first Purpose Tour show messages from Team Bieber members and fans poured online yesterday and today.

Based on Instagram posts shared by Bieber’s longtime stylist, Karla Welch, it looks like styling on the Purpose Tour may be by the Los Angeles label, Fear of God, which is created and owned by Jerry Lorenzo.

Today, fans also got a look at tour merchandise which will be sold at each stop and is available online. Take a look at the goodies in Complex’s exclusive report here.

Meanwhile, Post Malone and Moxie Raia were announced as Bieber’s Purpose Tour openers for most dates on his North American leg earlier this week.

At tonight’s show, singer-songwriter Corey Harper is the first supporting act before Raia takes the stage. According to a screenshot of the show schedule, Bieber will perform from 9 p.m. to 10.45 p.m., although it’s likely he will go over that time.

Rapper-singer Malone made his name with his breakout 2014 hit “White Iverson,” which began its online run on SoundCloud before picking up momentum and record company interest, finishing at No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. It’s now approaching double platinum status.

Malone guested on Kanye West’s new album The Life Of Pablo and should now significantly broaden his audience with the exposure he gets from opening on the North American leg of the Biebs’ Purpose Tour before dropping his expected full-length debut album in March. Post and Justin became friends after hanging out on various occasions this year.

“Got something special coming @postmalone,” the Canadian singer teased in his caption to an Instagram snap of the pals at this year’s CaliBash urban music festival in Los Angeles in January.

Malone was also part of Bieber’s post-22nd birthday bash, boys-only trip to a wilderness location last week.

Newcomer singer-songwriter Moxie Raie first surfaced in 2014 with her counter-culture debut single “Buffalo Bill.” More recently, she released “On My Mind” with Pusha T. In addition to features with Steve Aoki, Jimi Tents, Moxie is set to drop her 931 mixtape on March 23.

On Monday, Raia took to Twitter and Instagram to share her Bieber opening act news. Alongside a screenshot pic of Purpose tour dates with her name as support she wrote, “And then this happened.”

Raia’s gorgeous voice and R&B material and Malone’s hip-hop set are rich textural additions to Bieber’s tour, which is great for audiences who have bought (or will be buying) tickets.

As per Pigeons and Planes, Raia will be the opening act on the first night in Seattle on March 9. She will also be the only supporting act at four other dates when the Purpose Tour hits Canada. See those dates here.

Malone won’t be opening at the Biebs’ first show, as he’s currently supporting on Fetty Wap’s Welcome To The Zoo tour. Post’s first opens for Bieber on March 13 in Portland, Oregon. From there, the tour will include Toronto, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, and Chicago before wrapping with a two-night run at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 19.
