Trevor Noah Bashes Donald Trump Supporter On ‘The Daily Show’

Trevor Noah’s ratings may be down, but he still knows how to make an impression. On Thursday night, he tried to school Donald Trump supporters about the KKK. The Daily Beast has the news.

“‘One minute they were talking about whether or not Trump was cool with racism,’ The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah said Thursday night after playing a portion of the exchange for his viewers. ‘And the next thing you know, the Trump supporter is basically blaming the Klan on liberals.'”

Noah was referring to Trump supporter Jeffrey Lord repeatedly arguing that the KKK was nothing more than a tool of the political left on CNN. Noah was especially angry when Lord said the Klan lynched and killed African-Americans in order to further the progressive agenda.

Earlier in the week, Noah claimed that Hillary Clinton was stealing all of Bernie Sander’s ideas, reported Mother Jones.

“The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah took a few digs at Hillary Clinton on Wednesday night, saying the presumptive Democratic nominee was perhaps herself ‘feeling the Bern.’ But to Noah, Sanders supporters shouldn’t be mad that Clinton has co-opted his ideas.”

Noah said that the Hillary Clinton, who kissed up to Wall Street and voted not to invade Iraq, is now running on a platform of equality, love, and kindness. He says that is because of Bernie Sanders and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Although Trevor Noah has been the target of criticism from both the right and left for his hosting of The Daily Show, he found an admirer from the Chicago Tribune, who said we need to give Trevor Noah a chance with The Daily Show.

“You can understand why Comedy Central went with Noah. At 32, he is a full generation younger than Stewart, 53, and he has most of a generation on Bee, 46. But while he has had some growing pains as a host, including being able to read copy cleanly, the show remains one of the most sharply written you will find,” gushed critic Steve Johnson.

He added that Noah was very keen on using his outsider status to analyze the American presidential race. He liked when Noah drew comparisons between Trump and some cruel African dictators. Johnson also mentioned that while Noah doesn’t hold up in comparison to Jon Stewart, he is at least keeping it funny as he seems to be improving as a host.

The Atlantic’s James Parker thinks Trevor Noah is smooth and charming, but he hasn’t quite found his edge. Like others, Parker compares Noah to former host Jon Stewart and concludes that he doesn’t even come close. It’s not that Parker thinks Noah is bad, but he just doesn’t have the look of fear in his eyes that Jon Stewart did every night.

Still, most of the comments about Trevor Noah on Twitter this week have been positive.

However, some on Twitter think that although Noah is charming, he just isn’t funny.
