Rory Feek Goes Home To Tennessee With Indiana After Joey Feek Dies

Rory Feek has posted his first message after announcing that his beloved wife, Joey Feek, has passed away. On Saturday afternoon, the country singer took to Instagram to let his fans know that he and 2-year-old daughter Indiana had arrived at their home in Tennessee. According to People Magazine, Rory Feek previously took to his blog to say that he’d be heading home after his wife died on Friday.

“After four-and-a-half months in Indiana, we will soon be back home in Tennessee. Me, and our little one, with our older daughters. It’s hard for me to imagine being there without Joey, but at the same time… it is where she wants us to be. It’s where she will be… She’s gonna be in the mint growing beside our back deck, the sweet-corn frozen in our freezer and a million other places that her hand and heart has touched around our little farmhouse and community. Joey will still be with us. Everywhere. So if it’s okay, I’m gonna close, wipe my tears and pack our bags to hit the road headed south. She’s already got a head-start on me.”

Rory Feek posted the following picture on Instagram on Saturday. With his little girl on his shoulders, Rory proves to be a symbol of strength during this time of tragic loss. His caption, though short, speaks loudly.

Joey Feek spent the last few months of her life in a hospice facility where she was well cared for. She was able to spend time with loved ones on a regular basis and said her final goodbyes about a week ago. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Joey knew that it was her time to go and she told her husband so before falling into a “deep sleep.”

Rory Feek knew that his wife died peacefully and he seems to be at peace knowing that Joey is no longer suffering. In his blog post confirming the passing of his beautiful wife, Rory wrote that Joey’s dream had come true as she was sent to heaven.

“My wife’s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven.”

Rory Feek knew that his wife had fought hard against cancer and that she did her very best to stay positive. He made sure to surround her with a lot of love and support over the past several months and she that is how she passed away. This is likely the way that Joey would have wanted to spend her last moments and the way that Rory felt was best.

“At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last. And a moment later took her first breath on the other side.”

Fans hope that Rory Feek is able to find peace and comfort in the coming months. It does seem as though he is already seeing the world with Joey as his light. He posted the following photo on Instagram on Saturday evening, and his caption was nothing short of uplifting, even if it was a bit bittersweet.

Rory Feek will now focus on raising Indiana, who has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. He will make sure that he does everything that he can to keep Joey’s memory alive and to remind Indiana of her mama. Although Rory has said that he won’t make music without Joey, some fans hope that he will change his mind. He could write a beautiful album dedicated to his late wife and it could prove to be very therapeutic for him. In time, perhaps.

Fans have been sending their well wishes to Rory Feek since learning of Joey’s passing. According to Us Weekly, a rep for Rory has said that donations can be made in lieu of flowers and should be sent to P.O. Box 5471, Vancouver, WA 98668.
