‘General Hospital’ News: Is Someone Staying Or Coming Back? Rumors Include The Return Of Brenda Barrett

There have been many speculations lately on what special surprises may be in store for fans of General Hospital. With so many soap rumors always getting tossed around the Internet, it is hard to figure out which ones are true or not. Then, you have messages posted by actors or staff that seem to fuel the fire.

Executive producer Frank Valentini had posted such a message on Twitter on Wednesday saying that he has some “really good news” in store. He is making everyone wait with anticipation, which is why many people have taken to social media to speculate or to add their two cents on what they hope it will be. There are many possibilities on what it could be and there could even be some clues here and there.

The really big news that many fans are praying for is to have longtime General Hospital actress, Rebecca Herbst, stick around. There have been reports that she was at a standstill in her contract negotiations and that it doesn’t look good for her future with the soap. Many fans of her character, Elizabeth, have been upset over this news.

It also didn’t help when Herbst’s husband, Michael Saucedo, sent out a couple of tweets that seemed to tell fans that it was not looking good at all, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. When a fan asked him if there was any good news to share, the former General Hospital actor said that it is nothing that fans may want to hear. In addition to that, another fan sent in a news story stating that Becky was not going anywhere, but Saucedo told them that it was an old story from 2011 and then added a frowny face to go along with it.

Despite all of that, GH fans are really hoping that this good news that Frank Valentini speaks of is that Becky Herbst has signed her contract with the soap and will be sticking around as Elizabeth. However, it could be something entirely different altogether.

There have also been rumors floating around that a character from the past will reappear. Most fans know by now that Michael Easton is returning to General Hospital very soon to play a different character, but is there someone else who will be coming back to reprise their old role?

There is a good chance that actress Vanessa Marcil may be coming back to reprise her role as Brenda Barrett. There are clues that Vanessa herself has given. In an Instagram photo she sent out, you see a tag with her name on it from the Walt Disney Company, which leads everyone to believe that she is headed back to the ABC studio. Could it be General Hospital or another show she is working on?

Another big scenario would be that actor Ian Buchanan will come back as Duke Lavery. Fans watched the heartbreaking moment when Duke died in Anna’s arms last year. She has been a mess ever since. Now that she is finally coming to terms with her true love being gone, he may just come back into Anna’s life once again.

As if all of those scenarios aren’t enough, how about having Emily Quartermaine back on General Hospital? It has been years since Emily died and broke Prince Nikolas’ heart, but there could be a chance that she could return, and it looks like the actress who plays her would definitely be up to that possibility.

Natalia Livingston had responded to a message from a fan saying that it would be nice to be back on the soap. She even relayed that to Frank Valentini as well. While this may be a long shot right now, it certainly cannot be ruled out. Would you like to see Emily come back to Nikolas?

Valentini has not yet posted what the good news is, but General Hospital fans seem to be trying to wait patiently for him to spill the beans. Whatever it is, hopefully the news will be as good as he says it is.
