This Week’s ‘GTA V’ Event Offers Huge Discounts On Online Aircraft

For the third straight week in a row, Rockstar Games is treating Grand Theft Auto V fans with a special event that will reward users with a series of in-game bonuses and discounts within GTA Online. After focusing more on the game’s co-op jobs during a similar GTA V event, Rockstar Games is now promoting all Versus Missions from now through next Thursday.

Following up after last week’s recently concluded Rhino Hunt Week, the developer announced the start of the latest Grand Theft Auto Online event today. While detailing the benefits of today’s newly started event, the Rockstar Newswire revealed today that gamers will receive twice the normal payouts of cash and RP for participating in any of the aerial-themed Versus Missions that were added to GTA Online alongside the Flight School Update back in 2014.

“It’s high time to throw back to the classic Versus Missions and additional modes originally released in the GTA Online San Andreas Flight School Update that have been a staple of GTA Online adversarial combat. As part of Versus Missions Week, going on right now through Thursday March 10th, all of these modes are awarding double GTA$ and RP to players, win or lose. Whether you’re into crowd favorites such as Top Fun and Weed Killer, or want to check out the explosive Airport Parking and death-defying G Rating.”

In addition to getting extra mission rewards, players can also receive bonus RP for completing certain piloting stunts such as flying under bridges. All of the pilot lesson missions from the San Andreas Flight School are also paying out double RP for the remainder of the event.

Rockstar Games has also discounted many of GTA V‘s aircraft and flight accessories in celebration of the title’s latest week-long event. Users can now enjoy 25 percent off of any purchase of private jets and combat helicopters inside Grand Theft Auto Online. The discount can easily save fans thousands of dollars since aircraft can be some of the most expensive purchases in the game.

Those hoping to actually look like a master pilot can also now pick up all flight suits and flight caps for half price. To help players on the ground compete against flying opponents, the event is providing sales on standard weaponry such as automatic rifles and homing missile launchers that should be of aid against in-flight targets.

Fans can now easily try out any of the currently boosted Versus Missions in GTA Online from a newly added playlist that can be found within the game. This allows users to quickly join up with fellow gamers to play any of the affected jobs. Since this week’s event is offering bonus rewards on dozens of different missions, Rockstar Games also plans to switch out which jobs are included in the playlist throughout the week.

Grand Theft Auto Online fans are now likely accustomed to these kinds of special in-game events since they have appeared in the game since its initial launch back in 2013. However, it seems that Rockstar Games is really turning up the frequency for how often the events are held as made evident from the fact that the past three weeks have seen non-stop events inside GTA Online.

Gamers can expect this kind of support to continue in the future considering the ongoing success that both Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive have had with the online mode of Grand Theft Auto V. As the Inquisitr reported last month, even Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick claims to be surprised by just how well GTA Online has performed. The earnings generated by the title’s multiplayer mode is likely one of the reasons users have yet to see any kind of single player DLC released for GTA V to date.
