Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Divorce Update: Rapper Banned From Styling Her Met Gala Look?
Has Kanye West taken a turn for the worse in light of recent divorce rumors? While Kim Kardashian has done her best to shut down reports claiming she and Kanye West will soon split, reports continue to surface, and in one of the latest rumors, Kardashian has reportedly restricted Kanye West from styling her for the upcoming Met Gala.
For the last few years, Kanye West has chosen Kardashian’s Met Gala look, but this year, Kardashian prefers to play it safe, rather than draw even more attention to her allegedly troubled marriage.
“Kim doesn’t want to do anything risky,” an insider told Radar Online on March 3. “She wants to wear something classic and elegant. Nothing like that floral print dress [Kanye West] persuaded her to wear in 2013.”

In 2013, while Kardashian was pregnant with her first child, daughter North West, now 2, she arrived to the red carpet in a floral turtleneck gown, which covered just about everything, aside from her face and left leg. The bizarre dress even included strapped heels and gloves with the same pattern.
In an interview with TODAY after the event took place, via Us Weekly, Kardashian’s younger sister, Khloe, admitted she wasn’t a fan of the gown, claiming it was “too covered” and “all looked like one.”
According to the report, this year’s Met Gala theme is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and the accompanying exhibition will “focus on the dichotomy between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion,” according to Vogue.
“[Kanye West] thinks he can totally push the envelope and have Kim in something very avant garde and unique,” an insider told Radar Online. “The theme plays to Kanye’s strengths as a fashion designer, and it’s very frustrating that Kim isn’t falling in line.”
Although Kardashian may want to branch out with her 2016 Met Gala look, she has proved to be a supportive wife in the past. Just last month, amid drama over his ongoing Twitter rants, Kardashian and her family, including Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Lamar Odom, attended Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She’s even stood by him throughout his many Twitter feuds with celebrities. Still, she’s reportedly put her foot down when it comes to allowing him to choose her Met Gala attire.
“[Kanye West] is very vocal about Kim’s fashion choices and is hyper-critical when he doesn’t agree with how she is presenting herself,” the source explained. “They are fighting non-stop over this, and it has just gotten ridiculous.”

In addition to Kanye West’s many Twitter rants, he’s also alleged that he is facing a $53 million debt. Although his net worth is an estimated $145 million, Go Banking Rates claims his spending habits are completely out of control, leading to a steady decrease in his accounts.
As the report stated, Kardashian and Kanye West started off their relationship with a bang, when he spent an estimated $6.2 million on his elaborate marriage proposal at the AT&T Stadium in San Francisco, and an additional $2.8 million on their European wedding ceremony. They then purchased a home in Bel Air, California, for $9 million and spent $2 million renovating it. However, rather than move into the home when the renovations were complete, the couple remains living with Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, after putting the home on the market for $20 million.
Kardashian and Kanye West also purchased a $20 million home in Hidden Hills, California, but have yet to move in.
