WWE News: ‘Total Divas’ Recap — Nikki Bella Drops The Divas Championship

On last week’s episode of Total Divas, Nikki Bella celebrated becoming the longest reigning WWE Divas Champion since the title was created. But this week, she faces Charlotte at WWE Night of Champions, where her historic title reign comes to an end. The other half of the Bella Twins, meanwhile, begins to realize that she’s less romantic than husand Daniel Bryan and looks to sister Nikki for advice. But with the way Daniel Bryan mocked Nikki and John Cena’s relationship in the past, Nikki may not have been the best person Brie could go to for input.

Aside from the Bella Twins, Natalya wrestles with whether she should change her last name — or whether her husband should instead. Paige, meanwhile, continues to grow frustrated with her rock star boyfriend. Rosa Mendes, unable to compete in the ring due to her pregnancy, tries to find another way to remain active on WWE programming.

Mandy (who debuted four weeks ago on Total Divas) and Eva Marie don’t make any real appearances in this episode.

Nikki Bella drops the WWE Divas Championship to Charlotte

Whether or not her relationship with John Cena played any part in it — or whether WWE really wanted someone other than CM Punk’s wife AJ Lee to hold the honor– Nikki Bella’s record-breaking title reign was unexpected by most of the WWE Universe. The Internet Wrestling Community was more than ready for one of the newest members of the WWE Divas Revolution to hold the strap. Charlotte has held the title ever since.

Aside from adjusting to life as the former WWE Divas Champion, Nikki also offered some advice to her sister. When Brie wanted to come up with a way to show her husband that she could be romantic, Nikki let her know the kinds of things she and her lover John Cena do during their date nights.

Love life issues for Brie, Natalya, and Paige

Unsurprisingly, Daniel Bryan isn’t super impressed with Nikki’s ideas of romance. By the end of the episode, Brie comes up with her own ideas, which included renting the electric car that Daniel always talks about wanting to purchase.

Less concerned about romance, Natalya wasn’t sure that she wanted to give up the Neidhart name for Tyson/TJ’s last name, Wilson. When asked about it, TJ was completely unwilling to take the Neidhart name for himself, despite the tie it has with the legendary Hart wrestling family. In the end, Nattie decided she would go with the hyphenated “Neidhart-Wilson” for a last name.

While not a lot of attention was given to it on this episode, it was clear that Paige was beginning to lose patience with her boyfriend, who she rarely sees due to the fact that they are both on touring work schedules. Paige’s relationship drama will take greater precedence next week.

Rosa Mendes: pregnant and employed

While never much of a threat to the WWE Divas Championship, Rosa Mendes was an active member of the WWE roster. Now that she’s pregnant, however, she’s not even allowed at ringside. Given the relatively aggressive nature of the wrestlers at live events, her boss Mark Carrano didn’t want her conducting backstage interviews during show tapings.

Finally, before the show’s end, Rosa finds her place. She’s allowed to do backstage interviews for WWE before the show tapings begin. While she struggles at the get-go, she ultimately nails the interview with Heath Slater and Adam Rose.
