Kris Jenner Feels She Failed Nicole Brown Simpson As Friend, Didn’t Listen

OJ Simpson is back in the headlines once again with the new show The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Now Kris Jenner is speaking out about her close friend Nicole Brown Simpson’s death. Us Magazine shared what Kris had to say recently on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about how she feels like she let her good friend down and should have listened more.

Kris Jenner and Nicole Brown Simpson were really close. Kris is now revealing that she feels like she failed her friend and maybe just didn’t see the signs the way that she should have seen them. Kris revealed her thoughts.

“We felt like we really failed her as a friend. You know, you go through this and you discover things about somebody, and it was horrible. The timing was unfortunate, too. “She and I were supposed to have lunch the day after she was murdered. She said she wanted to show me some things and talk about what was in her safe. So now, unfortunately, it all makes sense… That’s probably what she wanted to reveal to me that next day, which broke my heart because I will always feel horrible that I didn’t pay enough attention.”

When Nicole Brown Simpson died, Kris Jenner found out the details from Nicole’s mom, who called her to tell her the bad news. Kris was shocked and says that OJ Simpson was like a brother to her. Kris had known him since she was just 17-years-old. Kris’ assistant actually answered the phone, and Kris told her to pass on that she would call her back, but the assistant could tell something was wrong and told her to call back right away. This was when Kris Jenner got the news of Nicole Brown Simpson’s passing.

At the time, Nicole Brown Simpson’s mom told Jenner that Nicole had been shot. It turned out later that she was actually stabbed to death. Kris said she asked where to go and then was told “‘No, she didn’t make it.’… That was the information that Judy had at that very moment in time. That was very early in the morning.”

People went on to explain some of the details of what Kris Jenner had to say about Nicole Brown Simpson’s death. Ellen DeGeneres asked Kris Jenner if OJ Simpson had ever reached out to her after the death of Nicole and he actually did right after it happened. Kris said that he called her a few times and that he wanted to talk about how he felt with everything going on. Kris Jenner went on to explain how awkward these conversations could be for her.

“It was painfully – it was just the whole entire – every single day it was something different. And it was very difficult because my ex-husband [Robert Kardashian] was on one side, you know, I was kind of on the other, the kids were in the middle and it was trying to explain this to children and then O.J. had called. Everybody lost so much that night. You lost everything you knew – I can’t even imagine being her family, her parents, her sister, were so devastated.”

Do you think that Kris Jenner could have helped save Nicole Brown Simpson had she listened sooner? OJ was actually found not guilty of these murders, but there is still speculation that he was the one who did it. Are you enjoying the new OJ Simpson show?
