Blake Shelton Responds To Westboro Baptist Church With Epic Twitter Burn

Blake Shelton and the Westboro Baptist Church have been at odds before, and it looks like they aren’t going to let him out of their sights anytime soon. The country star popped up on their radar after his first divorce, and the recent media attention directed at Shelton and new girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, have put him in their sights once more.

When the group announced, via Twitter, recently that they would be picketing his recent show in Missouri, Shelton fired right back with a burn on the group.

Shelton has been busy, not just with his tour but with fending off a string of rumors focused on his relationship with Gwen Stefani. The couple haven’t been public with their love very long, but the media has covered just about every aspect of their time together and fans have been speculating for weeks about whether Gwen is pregnant or whether they’ll get married.

The duo haven’t been shy about their relationship, flirting heavily during their time together on The Voice and promoting one another’s work on social media. Shelton even played some of Gwen’s new music before his show in Cincinnati recently.

The couple also made a recent appearance at a wedding in Tennessee, where they supported former Voice contestant RaeLynn, and took photos with the wedding party. Shelton’s ex, Miranda Lambert, was also invited to the nuptials but did not attend.

RaeLynn told Us Weekly that her goal was to have a “cool” vibe on her big day, and Gwen’s presence undoubtedly added to it.

“My main thing was I just wanted everybody to have a good time, you know. I wanted to make sure we had the best DJ in town. And I love table decorations. I want every table to have its own little thing. So that’s my main thing is I just want to create a cool atmosphere,” she said.

Gwen Stefani has been pretty open just recently about what a hard time she had at the end of 2015 after finding out her husband, Gavin Rossdale, had been having an affair with one of their nannies for years. Rossdale and Mindy Mann reportedly sent messages to one another — along with nude photos — that showed up on the family’s iPad.

“The iPad was linked to Gavin’s phone. One of the other nannies discovered the exchange and told Gwen,” a source told Us Weekly.

In an interview soon after their split was announced, she said her life had “blown up” and she went straight to music to cope with it, writing dozens of songs in order to cope with the loss.

“I wish it didn’t happen. I wish that all this wasn’t happening. But at the same time, I feel like it was part of my life journey…Because of my situation right now…I feel like I go back and listen to a lot of that stuff and I’m, like, I get sick. You look at the songs and go, ‘That was a red flag!'” Stefani said.

As any fan of No Doubt knows, Stefani wrote quite a few songs on Tragic Kingdom about her breakup with bassist Tony Kanal, and she referenced that in the interview, saying she was grateful to have music in her life in order to cope with heartbreak.

“In my life, I’ve had two really bad heartbreaks and I’ve written some really incredible music out of it. I feel so lucky to have that, and to be able to share it.”
