Anne Hathaway Down For A ‘Catwoman’ Spin-Off On One Condition… [Video]

Anne Hathaway is totally down for a Catwoman spin-off film but only if The Dark Knight‘s visionary director is involved somehow.

With The Dark Knight Rises already through its successful (though haunted) opening, fans are already a-buzz wondering what comes next, reports the Huffington Post. Since Anne Hathaway did such a good job as “Catwoman” (though the bar was set pretty low), is it possible that she’ll be given a chance to reprise her role as the famous femme fatale in a spin-off film? Probably not likely, since director Christopher Nolan is reportedly “done” with the Batman mythos, though Anne Hathaway said she’d be more than willing if Nolan changes his mind.

“If he’s interested, I’m very interested,” said Hathaway on the potential for reprising her role as Selina Kyle. “I think it would be lovely to see more of her, but only if it’s with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City, and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.”

Though Nolan has said that he’s done with the Bat-verse, he has lavished praise upon Hathaway for her performance and remarked that she does indeed deserve her own solo film, reports the Houston Chronicle.

“She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more,” Nolan said, insisting once again that he’s out of the Batman mythos before adding, “I certainly think she deserves [another chance], she’s incredible.”

So don’t hold your breath for a Nolan-helmed Catwoman film starring Anne Hathaway in a slinky catsuit once again, but, after a few more deeply philosophical/visually spectacular films, maybe Nolan will miss superheroes. It’s not like he’d have to try very hard to beat the Halle Berry version anyway.
