Taylor Swift: What’s On The Horizon For The Superstar? Kanye Can’t Stop This Talent
It really seems, despite the nonsensical remarks by Kanye West, that Taylor Swift can do no wrong. The country-turned-pop star has excelled and broken records in all she has sought out to achieve. It seems as though just when the “Blank Space” singer has reached her pinnacle of success, she pushes the boundaries and breaks the ceiling with a new achievement or title.
Now that the star has both critical and commercial success in all that she has sought to do, and altered the direction of music as well as history thanks to winning the Grammy for best album two years in row, what more can the talented beauty have up her sleeve in order to continue to wow fans and keep Kanye in check?
As Forbes shares, Swift has a new album on the horizon. Her monstrously successful album 1989 is still breaking records and has included a slew of no. 1 hit songs and singles, but a true musician always looks to what’s next and focuses on creating new music. As the publication notes, it’s unlikely that Swift return entirely to country music after experiencing so much success with her pure pop album, 1989.
“Since she just started in the genre, she might have more to say before she feels the need to move on. Between the 5 million-plus album sales, the millions upon millions of singles sold, and the worldwide tour, which grossed about $4 million per night, pop has treated Swift pretty well so far.”
There has been talk that the beauty may also include more dance-inspired beats in her music to bring a new flare to her sound and increase the hype created on tour. Dating Calvin Harris may increase the chances of the dance genre working its way into Swift’s new album, as Forbes suggests.
“[S]he has to push herself and try something new next time around, and the world is loving all things electronic at the moment. Plus, she is dating one of the world’s most successful and sought-after electronic/dance producers, so the resources are there.”
A collaboration between Swift and Harris would likely result in something fantastic that fans would love. Perhaps, the singer may even cross genres entirely and incorporate more R&B sounds or Hip Hop tracks. Swift has become one of the most marketable artists in the music and entertainment industry with lends itself to the star continually pushing to keep her brand fresh and appealing to fans and to reach a wider audience. Forbes notes Swift’s success by linking up with well-known brands.
“[W]hile the singer did bring in an astounding $80 million last year thanks to touring, music sales, and especially her partnerships with companies like Diet Coke and Keds, there is probably even more to be made.”
Perhaps the star could even ditch linking up with already-solid brands and instead become the face of her own. Swift certainly has the face to easily pull in interest to a fashion line or record label all her own.
As for additional opportunities to capitalize on her talents, it wouldn’t be such a massive surprise to see the artist take on the stage in a theatrical production or a big screen role as she certainly has the charisma for it. Is a Tony Award next on the list for Swift? The singer has, in fact, been nominated twice for an Oscar already for music she has created for films. The artist lost both times, yet being nominated is an achievement in itself. Something says that Taylor isn’t far off from a future win in the Academy Award category.
