Kylie Jenner Knew Caitlyn Was Transgender But Felt ‘Deceived’

Kylie Jenner doesn’t like secrets, especially when the secrets are about her family. During her cover story in Wonderland magazine, Jenner revealed that one secret in particular really got to her. The youngest of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reality TV show stars, Kylie, was only 10-years-old when the show started, but she was already aware that something was different about Caitlyn Jenner, then Bruce Jenner. According to Us magazine, Kylie knew, but didn’t ever say out loud the unspoken secret that Caitlyn was transgender.

Kylie explained that the secret of Caitlyn’s gender identity was “never admitted to” in the family. That made life very difficult for the teen, and she “felt deceived” for much of her teen years.

“I mean, obviously I knew about it my whole life, but it was never admitted to and then it was all said and done.”

For the youngest of Caitlyn Jenner’s two daughters with Kris Jenner, it was hard to have to suddenly be open about the situation after all those years of secrecy. The experience made her less trustful as she enters adulthood, and more careful about keeping secrets.

“I honestly just wanted to not be lied to. I just wanted honesty and no secrets.”

It took a lot of years, and a lot of courage for Caitlyn to finally come out to the Kardashian fan world, and Kylie probably isn’t alone in wishing that Caitlyn “would have introduced herself much sooner.”

In November of last year, Kylie appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and when the topic of Caitlyn’s new identity came up, Kylie had some interesting things to say about Caitlyn’s transgender decision. She admitted that it was a lot easier for her to get along with Caitlyn than it ever was with Bruce. Part of the reason for that preference is obvious. According to the International Business Times, Kylie explained that as a woman, it’s much easier for Caityn to talk to Kylie about things like makeup and clothes. That’s especially helpful since Kylie’s Lip Kit cosmetics line is becoming more important in her life now. “We bond a lot more,” Kylie told Ellen.

Kylie Jenner is happy about her father’s decision, despite the hard times in the years before the I Am Cait star came out. Kylie is “glad” that after all this time, Caitlyn has reached a place in her life where she is “able to be true to herself.” It looks like the younger Jenner has reached that place, too, though she has one condition to attach to her acceptance of other people’s decisions.

“I’m OK with everything, as long as everyone’s honest. I want to encourage people to live their life, you know?”

The premiere of I Am Cait Season 2 is on the E! network on Sunday, March 6 at 9 p.m. EST.

Many fans are hoping to hear more about Kylie and Caitlyn when the show returns.
