Sheree Whitfield Defends Her Decision To Bring Up The Gay Rumors To Kim Fields

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield is back on the show after several years of focusing on her family, business and personal relationships. Sheree revealed that the time had come to return to Bravo, and she is excited to be back. And it sounds like Whitfield hasn’t changed all that much because she’s bringing the drama — even though she may not mean to. After the gay rumors about Kim Fields’ husband surfaced in Jamaica, Sheree felt it was only appropriate to bring it up with her — in front of everyone. According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield is now revealing that she brought it up because she didn’t want to be fake.

“It was simple, Kim deserved an opportunity to respond and defend the rumors that Kenya brought to the group. I’ve come to learn that in these type of instances if an issue isn’t addressed it festers and lingers, so I figured I’d lay it all out on the table,” Whitfield explains of her decision to bring it up.

As she points out, none of the ladies brought it up themselves. When Kim wasn’t present, they could all talk about it, laugh about it, and gossip about it. But when they were all together, Sheree felt that everyone was being fake. Some of the women may not have brought it up, because they didn’t think it was important. Others may have kept silent, because they didn’t want their hands dirty. But Whitfield reveals that she didn’t want to be fake.

“Mind you, none of these ladies, with the exception of Cynthia, had an issue going in on Chris outside of her presence. They laughed and made jokes of the rumors, and then we all sit down together with Kim and these same women go on to exchange pleasantries and sing his praises!!! I just couldn’t take it! Can you say #fake, #phony, #fraudulent, or all of the above? LOL! #BottomLine: #IamAllergicToFakeS**t and I felt it would be best for us to just discuss what was said and involve Kim in the conversation and allow her to put an end to it if she saw fit…or not!” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield points out.

Regardless of the drama, Sheree seems to fit right in. When she was filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta a few years ago, she was quick to flip out and yell at both NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak. In Jamaica, NeNe and Sheree made peace, because they had both grown and learned from their previous mistakes. And Sheree Whitfield realizes that the time away from the show was very useful for her.

“Being away from the ladies and coming back into the circle, I definitely have gained a different perspective on how to handle conflict. I believe there are certain subjects that should be off limits in our circles, our families being one of them. It was unfair and borderline cowardly of Kenya to attack Kim’s marriage and family by bringing up these rumors to the group without Kim being there to defend herself. I just didn’t understand how Kenya discussing rumors about Kim’s marriage helps an already strained relationship,” Whitfield explains.

And it sounds like Whitfield has been very busy in her personal life. She shocked everyone when she showed up with Bob Whitfield for the couples trip to Jamaica. According to Reality Tea, she claims that they are not together, but they are working on a great co-parenting schedule for their adult children. Despite some flirting, she may be questioning whether a romance would be the ideal choice.
