Louis Tomlinson And Liam Payne All Smiles At BRIT Awards, LiLo Praises Fellow Nominee Coldplay

Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, fondly called “LiLo” by Directioners, reunited at the prestigious BRIT Awards held at London’s O2 Arena. The two represented One Direction and radiated goofy auras, despite the absence of Harry Styles and Niall Horan.

Tomlinson donned a black shirt paired with a gray jacket. Payne, on the other hand, wore a white shirt underneath a dark suit. He likewise sported a new hairstyle that was earlier unveiled by celebrity groomer Jason Schneider. Payne lost weight with Tomlinson, joking that his pal’s the “new Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

It appears that LiLo missed each other, as Tommo shared this snap on Instagram.

Three days ago, Payno also joked about calling his pal 49 times.

One Direction is included in two categories – Best British Group and British Artist Video of the Year for “Drag Me Down.” According to Mirror, Tomlinson and Payne believe that the Best British Group is a tough category, because Coldplay is up for the accolade, too.

“Chris Martin is amazing, I’ve been at a few parties with him and Coldplay are a great band,” Payno said. Tommo chimed in that “it’s hard to put yourself in a category with Coldplay.”

It was also revealed that the event organizers allegedly did their best to persuade One Direction to perform. The boys reportedly declined because they wanted to focus more on their solo projects.

“BRIT organisers were desperate to get the boys. They told them they could perform whatever they wanted, even a new single, or just turn up for a boozy night out. It didn’t work though. The lads seem more focused on their own projects now than rejoining their bandmates — even for the biggest night in showbiz.”

For the Best Video category, the band is competing with several artists, including Adele, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Sam Smith, Little Mix, and the boys’ pal, Ed Sheeran.

Tomlinson came from Los Angeles after spending a month there with his newborn son, Freddie Reign. Recent headlines suggest that the first-time father is back in the studio with Simon Cowell. Tomlinson is reportedly looking for talented damsels who can form a band playing their own instruments under the SyCo label. When a photo of Tomlinson with three females inside a studio emerged, fans theorized that maybe he’s done choosing the musicians.

As for Horan, he’s making the most out of his break by exploring Southeast Asia with his friends. Yahoo News reports that the Irish singer first went to Melbourne, Australia, via a commercial airline, then proceeded to Bali, Indonesia. From there, the group went to Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand.

Styles was recently photographed in London with fans, but he opted to not attend the BRIT Awards because he’s busy working on a solo album. Meghan Trainor similarly teased that Styles is writing more songs for her and Ariana Grande.

Styles already wrote for Grande in 2014, and while the “Break Free” songstress has a freshly-released material, it is believed that she’d collaborate with the British crooner for her fourth album. Like Grande, Styles also switched from Modest Management to Jeff Azoff.

Payne is using the break wisely, as well. Jennifer Lopez reportedly asked him to write songs for her. Fans already know that Payno has been working with Juicy J, too. He also gave one of his penned songs, “The Night We Met,” to a new Irish boyband under Louis Walsh’s wings, HomeTown.
