Kanye West Labels Taylor Swift Uncool As Pop Star Donates To Kesha & Soars Up Music Charts: Inside Their Feud

When Taylor Swift learned about the plight of Kesha Sebert, she could have joined others such as Adele, Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga with a social media post. Instead, Taylor used her money to make a difference, with a donation of $250,000 to Kesha, reported Newsday.

Alleging that she was drugged and raped by her producer, Sebert has fought in court to be freed from her recording contract. But the judge turned down that request to cancel her contract, resulting in financial struggles for Kesha due to the withholding of royalty payments for three years from her producer (the same producer, Dr. Luke, who she is claiming raped her).

And that’s when Taylor stepped up. Swift sought to make a difference with her cash donation amid all those celebrities climbing on the #FreeKesha bandwagon.

And almost at the same time as Taylor gave that money freely to Kesha, rapper Kanye West labeled Swift as uncool in a new meltdown. Mere months after he sent Taylor flowers as a symbol of ending their feud and becoming at least frenemies rather than fighters, West was back to dissing Swift, reported Nylon.

The speech attacking Taylor took place during Yo Gotti’s private album release party at L.A.’s 1 OAK. Among the topics: Whether Taylor really knew about the lyric regarding her in his newest release. His version describes Swift as saying that she was informed about the lyric and said she liked it. West then wound up for the accusation that Taylor lied and is uncool.

“Then she won her award and said something completely different! [Taylor is] not cool no more. She had two seconds to be cool and she f****d it up.”

Swift attacked Kanye’s new song “Famous” as misogynistic, according to the Mirror.

The lyric that is in contention as to whether or not she approved it uses some NSFW language.

“I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex, I made that b***h famous,” says the song.

Despite that ongoing controversy and reigniting of the feud, Taylor is continuing serenely with her life. However, Swift recently responded to the lyrics indirectly in her Grammy Awards acceptance speech for Album of the Year.

“[Some people] will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” slammed Swift during her speech in a pointed reference to West.

As to how all this drama is impacting Taylor in regard to her musical success, score one for Swift, who is soaring up the charts, reported Billboard.

Taylor benefited from the social media buzz surrounding the 58th annual Grammy Awards. Held on February 15, the ceremony produced Twitter traffic, resulting in 7.8 million tweets.

For Swift, the social media network is a friend, and she gained when it comes to the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart.

Ranking number one is “Bad Blood,” with Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar. The two remixed Swift’s 1989 song. Among the honors it received were best music video honors, a win for Taylor (one of her three wins), and a win for Lamar (one of his five wins).

Credit goes also to Taylor herself for her tweet of a video about the pre-show win, garnering over 160,000 favorites and 85,000 retweets.

That puts “Bad Blood” on the number one spot for the third week on the Top Tracks chart. It ties with “Blank Space” for the most enduring success stories from Swift.

In addition, a recent survey revealed that despite Kanye’s boast that he’s 50 percent more influential than any human being (dead or alive), Taylor is regarded as more influential by adults in the U.S., reported Forbes.

Nielsen Talent Analytics reports that while 24 percent of U.S. adults view the rapper as influential, 55 percent feel that Swift is influential.
