WWE News: Tyson Kidd May Be Forced To Retire Due To His Serious Neck And Spinal Injury

WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd has had an okay WWE career. He has been a good tag team wrestler for most of his career, and even though he is a talented performer, he didn’t have the chance to stand out as a singles worker for some time. He attempted to in ECW years ago, but it just didn’t work at the time. Then he went to WWE NXT, and his career started to pick back up. It seemed that he was getting new life there and when teaming with Cesaro on the main roster in 2014 and 2016, but an injury in June of 2015 in a match with Samoa Joe put him out of action.

The injury was said to have been so bad that if he did not have muscles protecting him, he could have died from the injury or have been severely injured. Officially, Tyson Kidd has both a neck and spinal injury. Those who have survived the same injury before include the likes of Christopher Reeves, who was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Kidd seriously escaped a lot here. Tyson had 16 staples, 4 screws, and a rod inserted in his neck. So, he clearly went through a lot.

He can walk, talk, and even move around. Tyson Kidd is very lucky, as the injury clearly was a bad one and he literally escaped with his life and only truly due to his wrestling past, which built up his muscles, to help him. The injury is so bad, though, that his wrestling career is in serious doubt.

According to Daily Wrestling News, after the whole Daniel Bryan retirement, it really made Tyson Kidd’s comeback even harder. There are many who believe that Kidd may also be forced into retirement. Of course, like Bryan before him, Kidd remains optimistic about his return to the ring. He has been rehabbing as best he can in hopes of a ring return at some point in the future. At the time of the injury, it was said he may not be seen in a WWE ring until the beginning of 2017 at the earliest.

As of now, no decision has been made regarding Tyson Kidd’s future with WWE. The idea is that it is far too early for WWE to talk of forcing retirement, as there is no telling if he can rehab cleanly enough to return. However, an injury of this significance would make many question a return to the ring for sure. WWE has been advised by their doctors that Kidd may never be able return to the ring, much less be cleared to do so.

Again, it is far too soon to know, so no one is focusing on his career away from WWE. Like Bryan, he has a deal with E! Network and works on the WWE Total Divas show. That means he is not going to be out of WWE related material even while he’s out of action. If he can never return, there are many who believe Tyson Kidd would take on other roles in WWE that Daniel Bryan has been hesitant to take on. This is especially true if he realizes his injury is just too severe.

WWE fans obviously want Tyson Kidd to return to the ring as he is one of the most talented wrestlers WWE has ever had. He was the last graduate of the Hart Dungeon, and is a true technician in the ring. There are very few who can do what he can, which makes him so unique to watch. While he may be forced into retirement as of now, there is a good shot that he can heal up and get cleared eventually. At least, that is the hope among WWE fans and even management.
