Leonardo DiCaprio: On Professionalism, Recent Flames, And Taking Heat

Acting has been his craft and focus since a young age, and Leonardo DiCaprio admits that he learned early on that being professional on set is the way to go after he was kicked off one at the tender age of 5. The adorable youngster was apparently asked to leave the set after being disruptive to the crew and other actors. A friend to the now 41-year-old heartthrob shares with the Mirror about the event that left a young Leo heartbroken. The Daily Mail shares the scenario.

“[Leo] was reportedly kicked off the set of US kid’s show Romper Room, which ran from 1953 to 1994, after he was ‘disruptive’ on set. The handsome star’s friend Leilani Downer told the publication that Leonardo was heartbroken by the news and became determined in the acting world. “

Following the incident, DiCaprio began to get serious and followed the footsteps of his older step- brother, Adam Farrars, into auditioning for commercials and small roles. By the time he was 14, he landed a role in an advertisement for Matchbox cars and his career began to take off from there. The teen became a part of the hit show Growing Pains, and began landing film roles soon after.

Downer’s words express the drive even a 5-year-old Leo had in the industry following the Romper Room incident.

“Leo says that moment led him to understand being on sets was not a joke. He was heartbroken when they let him go. It was the most extreme lesson that being professional was vital to his future.”

The handsome Hollywood leading man has clearly managed to achieve a level of professionalism that is evidenced in his acting and demeanor when promoting his films. The star is always the picture of poise and distinction when at events, and takes every starring role extremely seriously. His latest role in the Oscar-nominated film The Revenant is a testament to this. Leo stands to finally win his first Oscar due to his remarkable performance in the film. The star is up for a best actor Oscar, and recently took home the same title from last week’s BAFTA Awards in London.

As for the star’s love life, he recently called it quits on a 6-month relationship with gorgeous model Kelly Rohrbach, and has since been seen spending time with a series of young women, mostly models in their mid-20s. After the Bafta Awards, however, DiCaprio was seen getting cozy with Laura Whitmore.

The heartthrob honed in immediately on the 30-year-old Irish presenter and didn’t take a moment before making a move, as Hollywood Take shares.

“Whitmore, 30, and DiCaprio, 41, reportedly got very cozy after the BAFTAs. Sources say DiCaprio went right to the gorgeous Irish presenter as soon as her saw her at Harvey Weinstein’s BAFTAs after-party. And DiCaprio and Whitmore were seen flirting and whispering in each other’s ears throughout the night. DiCaprio even held Whitmore’s face in his hands at one point.”

The blond beauty was then seen with a few others heading into DiCaprio’s hotel suite that night and exiting at 5 am. Leo was, however, out partying with a different beauty that night. It’s obvious that there is nothing serious to come from Laura and Leo’s encounter.

Apparently, Leonardo DiCaprio’s talent and “handsomeness” has stirred up a bit of jealousy on the Hollywood leading man front. Matt Damon spoke with the Sun this week following Leo’s win for best actor at the BAFTA Awards, an award that Damon was also up for. The witty and charming star jokingly responded to a question about his competitor’s win.

“F*** Leo. F*** that dude. F*** his talent and his handsomeness.”
