Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards: Why Is He Still Singing Songs About Her?

Zayn Malik fans had been waiting for his album Mind of Mine for quite a long time. The Daily Mail has reported that the song is believed to be about his ex, Perrie Edwards. This is often speculated because Malik had mentioned earlier that he started working on the album Mind of Mind while he was still with Perrie Edwards.

Malik performed on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

When Zayn’s first single, “Pillowtalk,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Complex music reported, there was much speculation that the song, although featuring Gigi Hadid, was really about Perrie Edwards, Malik’s ex girlfriend.

But unfazed by any talks about who the music was really about, Zayn put his best show on. Zayn was dressed in black and delivered a rather emotional performance during the show.

Zayn had said that he started writing the upcoming album, Mind of Mine, when he was still engaged to Perrie. Could this mean that the song would remind him of Perrie every time he listens to hit. Is it going to affect his relationship with his current girlfriend, Gigi Hadid?

Broadcaster Zane said: ‘There’s a song on the record called It’s You which is to me I can tell a real centre-piece for the album. Vocally certainly.”

He later added to his statement: “It’s about the break-up of your relationship, clearly.” Which clearly indicated that he was hinting at his breakup with his ex, Edwards, with whom he was in a long term relationship.

When asked why he kept his life private in his music, he said: “There’s always a fine line with that. I just felt like I needed to put myself out there a bit on that because it was a form of therapy for me, and it did help me get through some s**t. So if it can help someone else at that time, then that’s cool.” It looks like Malik does not mind using his private life for purposes, that may be considered, well, philanthropic. It seems like it’s working for Zayn. Who are we to judge?

Perrie and Zayn were engaged in August, 2013, after being together for about a year. The former One Direction star also decided to part ways with the band and signed with RCA, E! Online reported. It’s common news that Malik was also hit by a lot of cheating rumors, which had led to his breakup with Perrie Edwards, the Daily Mail had reported.

“I’d like to apologize to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight,” the former One Direction member had said at the time.

Soon after, the singer seemed to be pleased with his association with RCA. “I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA!!” he posted on Twitter at the time.

There has been much speculation that Edwards and Malik “talk” to each other via their social accounts. Perrie Ewards also posted a cryptic photo which showed someone playing a guitar.
