Chris Brown is reportedly worried about Rihanna’s well-being after having made the infamous decision to pull out of her Grammys performance just hours before the show was set to air.

Despite having complained of an illness that was supposedly affecting her vocal cords, TMZ reports that the 27-year-old was throwing tantrums throughout her rehearsals before eventually deciding that she was not going to perform. This came as a huge shock to the producers of the show — especially since they had advertised Rihanna as one of their headline acts throughout the weeks leading up to the award show.

While Rihanna hasn’t addressed the allegations herself, her ex-boyfriend, Chris, is worried to the point where he fears she will experience a similar meltdown to Britney Spears.

The “Toxic” pop princess experienced a huge downfall in 2007, which saw her smashing up people’s cars, running over a photographer’s foot, and shaving her head completely bald. Britney couldn’t handle the pressure that came with being the world’s biggest pop star, consequently leading her to one of the darkest moments she has ever experienced in her life.

“The industry bulls*** has taken its toll on Rihanna and Chris doesn’t want her to fall off the deep end like he once did. He knows a thing or two about pressure, extremely high expectations, as well as not being able to perform when you’re sick. Rihanna’s not in good spirits right now, and that’s why Chris has reached out to help save her before she has a meltdown worse than Charlie [Sheen] and Britney [Spears] combined.”

According to Hollywood Life, Rihanna and Chris have managed to keep a substantial friendship over the years despite their on-again, off again romance. A source for the news outlet claims that Chris has been in contact with his ex-girlfriend since her abrupt decision to bail on the Grammys, knowing very well that it is unlike her to cancel an event at the last minute, particularly when it’s a televised appearance to an astounding viewership of 25 million people.

While she may seem like she has it all together when she’s out in public, Rihanna is seeing more and more obstacles blocking her way. One of them being her latest album, Anti. The record was considered a disaster in terms of its marketing strategy after multiple songs leaked online. And while the album sold less than 1,000 copies in its first week (due to Tidal handing out free copies), the RIAA still certified Anti with a platinum plaque.

It was revealed that Rihanna had signed a $25 million deal with Samsung, which would see the company sponsor the singer’s upcoming tour while secretly purchasing one million copies of her album. This is how fans were then able to get a free copy on the music streaming service.

As confusing as it is, Rihanna may be regretting the move to have Samsung purchase the majority of her records, especially since the buzz around her latest music died out relatively fast. Some would like to think that with the release of Beyonce’s new song, “Formation,” the attention quickly shifted from Rihanna’s messy marketing plan to Bey’s new album, which is expected for a release later this year.

While she has earned herself endless number ones over the years, Anti has failed to produce any, as sources further allege that tickets to Rihanna’s upcoming tour haven’t been selling as well as her team would have thought they would. Nonetheless, the “Hate That I Love You” singer will still commence with the world tour, starting off with the North American leg next month.
