Calvin Harris Tweets His Congratulations To His Girl Taylor Swift After Her Spectacular Grammy Night

Calvin Harris just can’t get over how well his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, did at the Grammys, and he tweeted about it the day after it happened, E! Online reports. Harris sent out a tweet the day after the Grammys to declare how proud he is of Taylor, who took home three Grammys last night.

Taylor Swift won Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal, and Best Music Video for her album 1989 at the 2016 Grammys Awards. She used her acceptance speech for Album of the Year to send a heartfelt speech, which was both inspirational and an acknowledgement of some press the singer had been receiving lately.

“And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Swift said during her acceptance speech.

That was a direct rebuttal to a lyric that Kanye West included on a song on his new album, The Life of Pablo.

In one of the album’s songs, which is named ‘Famous,” Kanye raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous.”

At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye stormed the stage during a Taylor Swift acceptance speech and declared that Beyonce had the best video of all time. Kanye got a lot of backlash then too, but things seemed to have chilled out between them recently, especially when Taylor presented Kanye with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award last year. But it looks like Kanye still has an axe to grind.

Almost as soon as the lyric was played at the Yeezy Season 3 show in Madison Square Garden, there was backlash against Kanye for it. Taylor Swift’s celebrity squad came out and publicly defended her. As this previous Inquisitr article reported, Selena Gomez stood up for her bestie Taylor during an interview, Taylor’s brother threw out his Yeezys, and Jamie King removed a social media post about Yeezy Season 3.

That’s not all. Gigi Hadid, another member of the Taylor Swift squad, was at the Yeezy Season 3 show with her other bestie Kendall Jenner. Teen Vogue later reported that Hadid stated via Twitter that her attendance at the event did not mean that she agreed with the lyric in the Kanye song.

“My friends know of my loyalty,” Gigi tweeted.

But Taylor handled the drama with her head held high on Grammy night and even had some advice for young girls pursuing their dreams.

“But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”

In one of the long Twitter tirades that Kanye West fans have grown accustomed to, he claimed that Taylor knew about the lyric before Yeezy Season 3, but a rep from the Taylor Swift camp team denied this.

And as People Magazine reports, those very Twitter tirades may be causing a rift between West and his wife, Kim Kardashian.

According to People, Kim is not amused by Kanye’s Twitter rants at all. An insider claims that she is okay with those other offbeat aspects of his personality, but she hates the Twitter drama.

“What causes friction in the marriage, however, is Kanye’s compulsive tweeting. Kim can’t stand it. She is all for self-promotion, but doesn’t approve of Twitter drama.”
