‘Bachelor’ Alum Courtney Robertson Likes To ‘Make Out’ With Arie Luyendyk But Both Claim To Be Single

Bachelor and Bachelorette alumni Courtney Robertson and Arie Luyendyk Jr., may have stopped dating a few years ago, but according to Robertson, they still lock lips from time to time. Robertson spoke with Us Weekly this week just a few days after appearing alongside Luyendyk on a Bachelor-themed episode of Millionaire.

“I adore Arie. He’s a great friend who I like to make out with from time to time!”

Robertson won Ben Flajnik’s season of The Bachelor in 2012. Luyendyk was Emily Maynard’s runner-up on Season 8 of The Bachelorette. The pair got together shortly after Robertson’s engagement to Flajnik was called off.

Robertson told Us Weekly in March, 2015, that she was done with dating apps and was enjoying the single life. It’s a sentiment she echoed in her most recent conversation with the magazine. Luyendyk also said he is not currently in a relationship, although he had been living with a significant other.

Cast as the villain on Flajnik’s season, Robertson wrote a tell-all book in 2014. She told Us Weekly it caused a rift between her and her former fiance.

“I did hear from him. He was not happy. I got a couple of emails. I actually didn’t respond to his last email but I wish him well. He has moved on and I’ve moved on.”

Flajnik moved on to girlfriend Stephanie Winn, whom he met on Tinder, according to an Entertainment Tonight report in June, 2015. The couple is still going strong, with Flajnik posting a sweet picture of Winn and their dog, from the back, on Instagram just three weeks ago.

While it might be a stretch to call Luyendyk and Robertson “friends with benefits,” the race car driver had some kind words this week for his former girlfriend.

“I just feel like she always gets such a bad rap. She’s really just such a sweet, kind, funny person. She’s really witty, and I think a lot of people just don’t get her humor — she likes to stir the pot a little, and there’s nothing wrong with that!”

According to Us Weekly, Robertson’s tell-all included references to Luyendyk and the man who beat him out to win Maynard’s heart on The Bachelorette, Jef Holm. She said she wanted to date outside the Bachelor circles and found that Holm bragged about his charitable work, a tendency she found off-putting.

Luyendyk was apparently in the running to be last season’s Bachelor, but producers eventually opted for one of Andi Dorfman’s rejected suitors, Chris Soules. Former Bachelor Sean Lowe made the revelation during an interview in February, 2015, as People reported.

“From what I understand, the show, the producers that make the show, they wanted Arie.”

They chose not to cast him, according to Lowe, because of his lack of screen time since his time on The Bachelorette. Luyendyk is again active on the racing circuit.

Even if Robertson and Luyendyk do enjoy the occasional make-out session, the pair is split when it comes to favorites on this season’s Bachelor starring Ben Higgins. Robertson likes Becca Tilley as a potential Bachelorette. Luyendyk is a fan of Amanda’s.

Courtney denies she is similar to Olivia, although she admits she’s often grouped with other “villains” on the series.

“Olivia — I think she seems like a great girl, she’s beautiful, but I don’t get the comparison! Looks like she’s headed for Meltdown City next week!”

The Bachelor airs Monday nights at 8 pm on ABC.
