Eileen Davidson Discussing Abusive Relationships On ‘RHOBH’ Stunned Her ‘Young And The Restless’ Co-Stars

Eileen Davidson is one of the most private soap stars. She often falls under the radar when the topic turns from her acting abilities to gossip. Davidson decided to step out of her comfort zone of scripted drama when she joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last season alongside fellow soap star Lisa Rinna. Davidson also airs on The Young and the Restless as Ashley Abbott, and has appeared on Days of Our Lives as Kristen DiMera. Davidson has a lot going on in her life, but she was silently dealing with some hidden struggles.

On a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Eileen Davidson admitted to being in an abusive relationship twice in the past. While the details weren’t immediately given, the revelation was shocking to those who have known Davidson for a long time. According to Radar Online, Eileen Davidson’s co-stars on The Young and the Restless had no idea she suffered at the hand of abuse. Many of these people have shared the set with Davidson for three decades and had no inclination she was dealing with something like this. Keeping her life private has always been important to the soap actress, especially when it comes to her love life. In fact, when Davidson began dating her current husband, the fact that they were both married was not highly publicized.

Since joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Eileen Davidson has opened up a lot more to the public about her life outside of Ashley Abbott. The ladies on the show have been curious about Davidson, especially Lisa Vanderpump. She had asked a lot of questions about Davidson and how she met her husband. Actually, that conversation is what lead up to the revelation that there were abusive relationships in the past. Eileen Davidson is one of the more glamorous soap actresses, and a revelation like this was shocking to hear from someone who seemed to have it all together. While it was obvious that Davidson was a bit uncomfortable relaying information about her past, she didn’t expect the overwhelming response she has received.

Watching Eileen Davidson interact with Lisa Vanderpump is hard for some viewers. Vanderpump is more intrusive that some of the other ladies, and seeing Davidson become uneasy in the setting is not something The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans are used to seeing. Since the revelation of her physically abusive past, Davidson has been getting a lot of support. According to Starpulse, Eileen Davidson is being criticized by Lisa Vanderpump for her choice to reveal the abuse. Apparently, Vanderpump blogged after that episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aired, and dissed Davidson for feeling the need to share. Vanderpump also mentioned she had been there, but doesn’t want to relive the event. It was a very underhanded diss toward Davidson, and it upset a lot of people.

Going forward, Eileen Davidson is grateful for the support she has received. This admission was done with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ladies several months ago when they were taping. It was kept under lock and key until the episode aired. Davidson has been thrown into the spotlight for domestic abuse and relationship abuse, and now fans are wondering what she plans to do with it. Because she is so private, it is unlikely that activism is at the top of her list. Eileen Davidson is used to playing scripted roles written with such precision, standing up and giving a speech about what happened to her isn’t something she will likely be comfortable doing anytime in the near future.
