Drake And Rihanna’s ‘Work’ Music Video Not Finished, Open Auditions Being Held In Toronto

Drake and Rihanna’s newest collaboration for “Work” may be dominating the hip-hop and R&B charts since its debut last week, but it appears that the official music video for the duo’s track has yet to be finished.

Last month, rumors of an impending collaboration between Rihanna and Drake surfaced after a casting call for the duo’s music video appeared online.

According to Complex, the alleged casting call sought out male and female actors to play the part of horseback riders and cops before revealing that the duo would be filming the “Work” video at Eagle Rock Plaza in Los Angeles.

While no official photos of Drake or Rihanna surfaced from the music video shoot, several fans were able to capture behind-the-scenes photos and audio snippets of the duo’s late-night shoot.

Now, with Rihanna and Drake’s latest collaboration having skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart since its debut last Wednesday, fans are more than eager to get a glimpse of the duo’s music video accompaniment to the dancehall-style track.

Despite rumors suggesting that the “Work” music video is arriving imminently, new reports are indicating that the duo has yet to finish filming for their upcoming collaboration.

According to CBC News Toronto, open auditions for professional and non-professional dancers are being held for Drake and Rihanna’s new music video in Toronto.

The site reports that “hundreds of dancers” lined up at Milestone Studio in Toronto on Tuesday in the hopes of being cast in the music video for “Work.”

According to the casting director for Drake and Rihanna’s “Work” video, the project is seeking a total of “60 men and women” between the ages of 19 and 40 for the dancehall-style music video. The shoot date for the music video is currently set for this Friday.

The news comes just days after false rumors emerged on Twitter suggesting that U.K.-based music channel 4Music would be premiering the video for “Work” on January 30.

One fan tweeted a photo of their television guide for 4Music’s Rihanna and Drake-dedicated time slot for the video’s alleged premiere, which indicates, “We welcome the new video for the incredible Rihanna ft. Drake!”

With the channel seemingly confirming that “Work” would be premiering later that evening, one fan reached out to Rihanna through a direct message on Twitter to inquire about the rumors of a surprise release for her and Drake’s music video.

“Rihanna just DMed me,” one fan wrote alongside a screenshot of his conversation of Rihanna, who responded to the rumors with, “That bull****!”

According to fans who were able to tune into 4Music’s Rihanna and Drake-dedicated time slot, the segment was nothing more than a medley of Rihanna’s past music videos set to the audio of “Work.”

“@4Music got me hyped for nothing. For this,” one fan explained of the channel’s time slot, “A collection of videos over #WORK.”

While no official release date for the duo’s new music video has been confirmed, rumors continue to suggest that Rihanna and Drake may debut the video after the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, which are set to take place on February 15 on CBS.

Rihanna recently appeared in a promotional teaser for CBS and the upcoming Grammy Awards, further fueling speculation that the songstress may be planning a surprise performance during the awards show in two weeks.

While neither Drake nor Rihanna have been confirmed as performers for the event, fans are still holding out hope that the duo may reunite on the Grammy stage for “Work” following their 2011 performance of their collaborative track, “What’s My Name?”
