There has been a lot of buzz swirling among fans of The Bold and the Beautiful regarding Sean Kanan’s gig as Deacon Sharpe. Viewers have noticed that Deacon has been missing in action for a while now, and many were left stunned when Quinn recently revealed that she and Deacon had separated, which took place entirely off-screen. Is Kanan leaving B&B ?
Luckily, it seems that fans of Sean Kanan and the character of Deacon Sharpe may be able to take a deep breath. Soon after the buzz over the actor’s status escalated, given Quinn’s big reveal and many retweets Kanan shared via Twitter from fans who were missing Deacon, word came from the show that all is well.

Soap Central shares that a representative for Bold and Beautiful says that Kanan is still in the mix of things as Deacon. In addition, the rep teases that there is a big storyline ahead for Sharpe not too far down the road. It seems that juicy things are on the way for this fan favorite, though the rep did not tease anything more specific.
Kanan originated the role of Deacon on B&B back in 2000, but he left that show in 2005. Fans know that Sean also played the role of AJ Quartermaine on General Hospital off-and-on over the years. He was in the role of AJ from 1993 to 1997, and returned in 2012.
However, Kanan was frustrated with the writing for the iconic Quartermaine character during his return and the show killed off AJ, to the shock of many fans, in 2014. The actor also took the role of Deacon over to The Young and the Restless for a bit, joining that show from 2009 to 2012. When Kanan exited GH in 2012, B&B snatched him up again quickly.

Now Kanan has been back on Bold and Beautiful for a bit, marrying Quinn in April, 2015, after a wild courtship. Though there have been a few hiccups along the way, things seemed to be going well between Deacon and Quinn until this sudden split announced by Quinn last week. Given that the show gave no lead-up to this break-up whatsoever, B&B fans have been left scratching their heads a bit.
Fans may be relieved to hear a show rep tease big storylines ahead for Deacon, but not everybody is convinced that this is solid. Viewers are tweeting about how they could easily put together a handful of juicy storyline ideas to utilize Kanan, and he has been retweeting quite a few of the posts. While he has not commented directly on how absent his character has been, it certainly appears that he is anxious to see some action.

It is easy to see how the show might have gone with a sudden split between Quinn and Deacon to explain Quinn’s ability to hide Liam away for a bit without too many questions. However, if B&B truly intends to have this couple go their separate ways, fans are frustrated that it came with no lead-up and took place off-camera. Many hope that this is just a brief diversion and there truly is more on the way for this wild couple.
So far, there is no indication regarding when Deacon will be back with a real storyline or what lies ahead for the character. If indeed Sean Kanan is being edged out of B&B , fans are clearly going to be quite upset.
