Gwen Stefani And Christina Aguilera Mend Their Feud Ahead Of ‘The Voice’ Season 10 [Report]

Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera are used to alternating seasons as coaches on The Voice, but when Season 10 of the NBC singing competition returns, the two women will be appearing on the series together, Stefani as a mentor, and Aguilera as a coach.

Since there have been many reports claiming the two women have been involved in a years-long feud, the idea seems to be a bit risky. However, according to a new report, Gwen Stefani reached out to Aguilera recently in hopes of getting to know Aguilera in a healthier manner.

“[Gwen Stefani] wants to take Christina out for a fabulous dinner and she wants Blake to come along too,” a source told Hollywood Life on January 18. “[Gwen Stefani] was eager to clear the air with Christina so she reached out to her with the sweet gesture. She wants to let her know how much she respects her and that she has absolutely no intention of replacing her on The Voice.”

As fans well know, Gwen Stefani appeared on The Voice Season 9 as one of four coaches last year, and during the season, she and Shelton’s professional relationship turned personal. Then, due the increased ratings on the series, likely due to the increased interest in Gwen Stefani’s personal life, rumors swirled, claiming Gwen Stefani could potentially replace Aguilera as a season 10 coach.

Although that rumor was eventually shut down, Gwen Stefani’s boyfriend campaigned for her return in the weeks after The Voice Season 9, and even suggested producers change the coach count from four to five. And while The Voice has not yet changed the number of coaching positions, they have since opted to have Gwen Stefani return to the show as a mentor for Shelton’s team, which was confirmed by Us Weekly.

“When they all reunite on the show, [Gwen Stefani] wants to make sure there are no ill will feelings about her coming back as a mentor,” Hollywood Life‘s source continued. “Plus she doesn’t want there to be weird vibes between Christina and Blake.”

Rumors regarding Gwen Stefani’s alleged feud with Aguilera began swirling last year and continued through December after filming on The Voice Season 9 came to an end. At the time, a Radar Online source claimed Aguilera demanded she be brought back to the show — regardless of an increase in viewership caused by Gwen Stefani’s relationship with Shelton.

“Christina said that it was her show and gave a really big spiel about how she thinks that [Gwen Stefani] used this Blake thing to try and stay on the show,” a production source told the outlet. “Now people are dreading her return.”

Also at the time, the source confirmed there were no plans to change the dynamic of the show, and said producers would continue to alternate Gwen Stefani and Aguilera as they have done in the past.

“They have been switching the female judges on and off for over three seasons now and it has nothing to do with how well [Gwen Stefani] is performing” or what Aguilera wants, the source explained. “It has more to do with just keeping it different by changing it up. As of right now, there are no plans to make it five judges.”

Amid The Voice hiatus, Gwen Stefani and Shelton continue to flaunt their romance around Los Angeles, and in his hometown in Oklahoma, where he owns a ranch. They’ve also been seen in Gwen Stefani’s hometown of Anaheim, California.
