Future Fans Blast Ciara And Russell Wilson With ‘Purple Reign’ Emojis After Rapper Drops New Mixtape

Future may have denied being bitter about ex Ciara’s current relationship with Russell Wilson, but it looks like Future’s fans are showing their support for the rapper after he took a few digs at Ciara and Wilson in his newly released mixtape, Purple Reign.

Future dropped Purple Reign earlier this morning after incurring a slight delay from his previously promised 11:56 p.m. release time for the mixtape; however, it doesn’t appear that fans were too bothered with the delay after receiving 13 brand new tracks from the “I’m The Plug” rapper.

Future’s latest mixtape release is executive produced by DJ Esco and Metro Boomin with production from DJ Spinz, Southside, Metro Boomin and Zaytoven and, despite rumors of potential collaborations on the record, it contains no features, Hip Hop DX reports.

Despite having had the mixtape for only a few hours, Future’s fans wasted no time delving into the rapper’s newest release before taking to social media to debate over whether or not the album took a few shots at Future’s former fiancée, Ciara, and her current relationship with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

“The fact future still throwing shots at Ciara in songs is hilarious to me,” one fan explained. Another fan added, “Has anybody seen the comments on Ciara Instaa page??? Future fans going all out.”

Surely enough, Future’s fans did swarm both Ciara and Russell Wilson’s Instagram pages with the purple “umbrella with rain drops” emoji to signify the release of Purple Reign before blasting Wilson’s performance with the Seattle Seahawks against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

“After Purple Reign and Russell’s performance today, Ciara is on her way back to Future as we speak,” one Twitter user wrote. Another fan added, “This what happens when Russell Wilson tries to win a game the same day Future drops Purple Reign,” before adding the hashtag, “#LetFutureSeeHisSon.”

Earlier this month, Future publicly bashed Ciara on Twitter by claiming that the songstress wouldn’t allow him to see his son despite paying nearly “15k a month” in child support without first going through a lawyer to work out visitation hours.

Sources close to Ciara later spoke out against Future’s claims, telling People that Ciara “has said that Future uses the situation to promote his music by staying in the press using her name.”

Ciara’s source further denies Future’s claims that he’s paying her $15,000 in child support each month, noting, “he does not or has he ever paid $15,000 in child support. It’s just not true.” The source also stated, “Ciara has never prevented him from seeing his child.”

In addition, the source alleges that Ciara’s relationship with Wilson has caused Future to become “jealous” and speak poorly of the couple in his music and on social media.

“He is jealous she has moved on and is happy,” the source continues, “He is unable to move on and co-parent in a healthy way. Future has told her he hopes she fails in everything she does and that’s just being evil.”

Despite the claims, Future previously denied being “bitter” towards Ciara and Wilson’s romance, telling The Breakfast Club that he wants his ex “to be totally happy.”

“I swear, man, I’m not thinking about her. I mean, I want her to be totally happy. Like, you gotta understand you want a person to be happy.”

Future further explained that people think he’s bitter because Ciara has “moved on,” but notes that he’s “taking care of me. I don’t need him—she needs him.”

While Future may only have well-wishes for his former fiancée, the rapper did admit that he isn’t keen on seeing Russell Wilson spend quality time with his son.

“Of course I wouldn’t want someone pushing my son. Like, that’s the number one rule…You know this dude for a few months and you’re bringing him around your kid?” Future asks of Ciara and Wilson’s relationship, “Who does that? Nobody does that.”
