Apollo Nida Claims ‘RHOA’ Stars Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker Have Stayed Loyal Friends

Apollo Nida says that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, have been some of his most loyal friends since going to prison. Despite Kandi’s falling out with Phaedra Parks, Apollo says the RHOA star has been great about taking his phone calls. Apollo even claims that Kandi and Todd have been putting money on his books while Apollo continues to serve out an 8-year sentence at the low security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, according to TMZ.

Apollo has been pretty good about keeping his fans up-to-date about his current situation. Nida has regularly called TMZ to give updates. This time around, Apollo is giving credit to Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker for staying loyal. Apollo claims that Kandi and Todd always pick up the phone when he calls from prison. Nida also said that Kandi and Todd have been putting money on his books and have been checking up on him often.

According to the TMZ report, Apollo seems surprised that Kandi and Todd are still communicating with him. Apollo’s estranged wife, Phaedra Parks, was close friends with Kandi Burruss until a falling out. Despite the distance in Kandi’s relationship with Phaedra, she has still been great about keeping in contact with Apollo.

Another reason Apollo may be surprised that Kandi and Todd are still friendly with him could stem from a probe into their own affairs. The RHOA stars recently got themselves into trouble when it was learned that Kandi and Todd were storing some of Apollo Nida’s possessions in their garage. Law enforcement was searching for some of Apollo’s toys to seize in order to pay back at least part of the $2 million in restitution that Apollo owes. It turns out that Kandi and Todd were storing Apollo’s Yamaha Raptor ATV and a very expensive 2014 Ducati motorcycle in their garage.

In an episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta that aired on November 15, 2015, Kandi Burruss revealed that she and Todd Tucker had some of Apollo Nida’s belongings in their garage. It didn’t take long for feds to act on that information and obtain a search warrant to retrieve Apollo’s ATV and motorcycle from Kandi and Todd’s garage. It seems that Apollo has caused a lot of drama for Kandi and Todd, which might be part of the reason he is so shocked to still have such loyal friends.

Now that Apollo has learned who his real friends are, maybe Kandi and Todd can advocate for Phaedra to let him see his kids. Apollo has been adamant about his desire to visit with his sons, Dylan and Ayden, but Phaedra Parks just won’t budge. This has been a huge source of contention between Apollo and his estranged wife. Despite reports that Nida was okay with his boys staying away from prison visitation, the imprisoned RHOA husband used his last call to TMZ to say that he wants to see his sons. Apollo also said that since he is now serving time at Fort Dix, which is a prison camp instead of Lexington, he expects to spend some time with Dylan and Ayden.

Phaedra Parks still claims she will not bring her sons to the prison to visit Apollo. Then again, Phaedra also said she was going to divorce Nida and move on with her life. So far, Phaedra hasn’t gone forward with a divorce and she has not brought her children to see Apollo in prison. Nida does speak to the boys by phone often though, as was shown on the most recent episode of RHOA. Apollo was seen talking to Ayden about his behavior at school. At least Apollo has plenty of people to talk to while he serves the remainder of his prison sentence.
