WWE News: ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin Is ’99 Percent Sure’ That He’ll Appear At ‘WrestleMania 32’

With all the injuries that have taken place in WWE over the last few months, the company is in dire need of star power to help fill AT&T Stadium to capacity on April 3. It’s already been announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be appearing on the show, but at this point we don’t know what his role will be.

Another WWE legend who’s role is up in the air for WrestleMania 32 is “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Over the last couple of months, there were some people questioning whether or not he’d even be at the show in Dallas this coming spring, but according to “The Rattlesnake,” it’s almost a lock that he’ll be there.

Austin appeared on the 100th episode of legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross’ podcast, The Ross Report, on Wednesday, and “Good ‘Ole JR” asked the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion if he would be at WrestleMania 32 in April. Austin said that he’s “99 percent sure” that he’ll be at the show, but, as of this moment, he’s not quite sure what he’ll be doing there.

“Yeah, I’m, at this point, 99 percent sure that I’ll be (at WrestleMania 32). In what form or capacity, or whatever, I have no idea. We haven’t discussed anything creatively. One idea makes sense for me to be there, which I obviously can’t talk about now, but I’d love to do this one endeavor that they’re talking about. But whether I’m in the ring or part of the show remains to be seen.”

“Stone Cold” also noted that, even if he doesn’t end up appearing on the show, he is planning on attending that WWE Hall of Fame ceremony the night before WrestleMania 32, which will be headlined by Sting, who will presumably be inducted by “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

At this point, Austin has pretty much ruled out wrestling on the show, or ever again for that matter. But, of course, there are still people out there who believe that he’ll end up in the ring with Brock Lesnar, even though he says that a match between himself and the former UFC and WWE World Heavyweight Champion isn’t happening.

However, Austin choosing not to wrestle Lesnar isn’t due to his lack of interest in the match, as he named Lesnar as one of two guys that he would’ve loved to get in the ring with while he was an active wrestler. The other name that he mentioned was CM Punk, someone that WWE fans would’ve loved to see lock up with “Stone Cold.”

In the WrestleMania events that Austin has been involved in since retiring from the ring, with a few exceptions, he’s been a special guest referee in one of the big matches on the card.

Since his last guest referee role, which was at WrestleMania 27 where he refereed the Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Michael Cole match, Austin has said that he’s not interested in being a referee anymore because he feels like he’s worn that role out, and that the fans would want to see him do something different.

As for what that something different would be, well, who knows?

There has been some speculation that “Stone Cold” will be the host of WrestleMania 32, which would make sense because the event is in his home state of Texas.

WWE has previously had two WrestleMania wrestler hosts. The Rock hosted WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, Georgia, and Hulk Hogan hosted WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, Louisiana. So, if Austin were to host WrestleMania 32, he’d be in good company.
