Did Selena Gomez & Brad Pitt Talk Business At The Golden Globes?

Selena Gomez and Brad Pitt were seen having a deep discussion at a Golden Globes after party. That made some media outlets wonder if Selena and Brad were planning to star in a new movie together. Of course, it also made the rumors swirl about the singer’s possible comeback to the movie screen.

Selena Gomez, 23, is setting the record straight on what they really talked about. She created some buzz when she shared an Instagram photo of her and Brad Pitt at the Golden Globes after party. She coyly captioned the photo, “Just discussing #TheBigShort.”

Both Selena and Brad starred in The Big Short back in 2012. Rumors were swirling that Brad was so blown away by Selena’s performance in the movie, that he’s considering casting her in the all-female remake of Ocean’s Eleven even though he has no control of the casting decisions. An insider told the Hollywood Life that Brad wants to make Selena Hollywood’s new “It” girl.

“He thinks that Selena would be a perfect fit for the Ocean’s Eleven female remake. He’s not producing the film but has close ties with the film’s director Gary Ross.”

The insider went on to claim that the 52-year-old actor sees a lot of potential in the Wizards of Waverly Place alum. Apparently, Pitt feels that Gomez needs to go back to her acting roots.

“Brad thinks Selena is hilarious and has a quirky side that needs to be explored on the big screen. He thinks she’s the new it girl.”

The stars were seen conversing at the CAA’s party held at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Gomez told E! News on Tuesday night at the UNICEF Ball that her and Pitt did talk about business, but only about the movie they starred in together.

“It was funny because I had met him a few years ago and I was kind of telling him how I geeked out about it and then obviously we were talking about The Big Short and how he thought it was really cool and his kids loved it.”

Then the singer was asked if Brad and Angelina’s kids are huge Selena Gomez fans. She shyly said, “Evidently.”

When Access Hollywood asked her about the rumors if Pitt has asked her to join the all-female Ocean Eleven’s reboot, the singer seemed stunned.

“Does he?” she laughed. “This is new information for me.” Despite being caught off guard by the rumor, Selena didn’t seem to mind the idea.

“I would love that,” she said with a huge smile. “I would be totally open to that.”

Entertainment Weekly has previously confirmed that Sandra Bullock will star in the remake, along with The Hunger Games director Gary Ross taking over for Steven Soderbegh. According to the original report from The Playlist, development on the remake started last year. It’s being produced by Soderbegh, along with Bullock’s longtime friend George Clooney and the late Jerry Weintraub.

There still hasn’t been any new information as to who else will fill out the rest of the cast. Selena Gomez is the only name who’s been thrown around. Fans remarked that they want Jennifer Lawrence to star in the film. Another possible candidate is Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.

The first part of the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy was released in 2001, and starred Andy Garcia, the late Bernie Mac, Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julia Roberts, and many other A-list actors. The cast then reunited for Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007.

The movies are a reboot of the original Ocean’s 11, which starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Angie Dickinson, according to Us Weekly.
